Previously, another contractor had installed a drain and a shallow cement topping, but it did not work. With heavy rains (2/2023), mold had returned. J-G Handyman's approach involved significant waterproofing -- removing six feet of soil, laying a wall-blanket, sealing walls, replacing soil and drain pipe, cementing top, and a final top-sealing. Inside, masonry was treated and painted. J-G Handyman's fee stayed true to the proposal estimate range, work was completed on time, and the contractor was accessible throughout. I plan to use J-Handyman for other projects. NOTE: Will provide an update, when heavy rains return."

"I posted prior review at time he began- He is more than likely better for small projects, not large scale. He started off wonderful, although this was not a small project, he committed to work he claimed experience and then had difficulty. At first he showed daily, worked hard until about 65% completed and he had been paid 2/3 of job- then he committed to coming, no show. I would contact claimed personal errands came up then committed another time no show. This occurred 3 days in row. There were other days he was frequently on phone, stating calls other jobs. Unreliability is an issue for me. This task dragging on too long. He claims distracted other tasks helping me, this is true and do take into consideration, although his lack of experience in a task made it take longer than should have taken. My husband was a contractor ( he passed ) so I am not unfamiliar with Const tasks I am not being unreasonable. He is more than likely great on small job- day or two- handling a larger project he begins to become unreliable. He has many skills, this job should been nothing for him- although he overcommits and lets personal issues affect concentration."

"Another job well done! We hired Frankie and his crew, Anderson and Ronnie, again for a second project repairing our large second story wood deck, stairs, and patio cover. They replaced all the wood posts with lag bolts, deck rails, stair rails, patio cover lattice, lower main post covers, and primer painted everything. They also ran electrical and installed 2 electrical outlets, indoor power switches, and 2 large ceiling fans and patched drywall inside and painted to match. Our black railing balusters with be installed after our house and deck are painted. Just like our first project, they did a very professional quality job! They worked all day every day in the hot sun until the job was completed. At the end of every single day they spent time cleaning up all debris. Everyone on Frankie's crew was very respectful, friendly, and accommodating. The end result was exactly what we asked for at an affordable price. Would definitely hire them again!"
