"Rick did a great job. My indoor allergies have almost disappeared after he cleaned the furnace ducts. Price was more than fair. Great company."

I’m a hardworking wife and mother of 5. I’ve worked as a store manager at Amato’s for 9 years, people person and friendly and excellentat customer service. Before Amato’s I worked at a hotel for cleaning services and now I want to be my own boss.

"I really appreciated being able to trust them in my home while not there. I've been a customer for about 2.0 years. Their invoicing always states the process they went through to resolve the problem ... so, you can understand why and feel comfortable with the money you're spending. Very professional and considerate. The furnace, albeit older, is purring once again. <br /> HIGHLY RECOMMEND! <br /> P.S. The first time I called I had been with another outfit for 19 years and whom had gotten really sloppy with their analytics and work. The furnace had a problem which the old outfit couldn't resolve. I called Edmistons early evening and the owner spoke with me for more than 20 minutes listening to my story, trying to figure things out. I was home the first time they came and I couldn't have been more comfortable or happier with the outcome. And, during the time the owner was there, I was talking about a renovation I was planning for the house and he recommended a fellow (with a few stories to go with the recommendation). That recommendation, Dan O'Connell of Gray, Maine, renovated beautifully (and fairly) many parts of my home. These guys from Gray and Gray New Gloucester are amazing! <br />"

"Very well. Needed a water heat within 4 weeks (so I didn't need to buy more oil and it was installed in 10 days from initial contact. Delivery and install timely, professional and they were very careful to manure the water heater carefully through the house and down very narrow basement stairs and around corners. They listened carefully to my requests, confirmed and kept me informed. The install and plumbing was professionally done and quicker than expected considering the running of new copper lines. Re the post below: I also had hot water off the furnace and was planning on shutting the furnace down. They told me they'd leave the furnace connected to make sure everything worked and was running properly because it took 2 hours to get the water to temperature. When you shut a furnace down you should know that it'll take a service call to start it up again. (It's not a car). I shut mine down 72 hours after install and hope to never try and have it restarted! :-) PS Heat pumps rock! My only criticism is they did not tell me anything about the warranty. I already sort of knew but the paper warranty included with the manual would seem to be all you need when you actually have to go online and register it. Some people wouldn't know that. They did explain/show where the filter was and how to clean it. The office staff was helpful even though I called multiple times for info. Like everyone right now they are swamped with calls and new business and short handed at times. Overall ery happy with my choice of companies!"

"If you're looking for this type of service, don't look any further. IMO this company is the best in New England. We have used their services for hot water heater and gas dryer installs, and now ductwork cleaning. Ben and Dominic did a great job and were very conscientious of our home while doing their work. The photos of before and after the cleaning were amazing and my wife and I can feel the difference in the air quality just after one day. You can't go wrong with Hall's. Don and Nancy"

"At first the idea of changing out my oil furnace was scary and I feared it would be very costly, however, Tom and his crew were excellent, from the quote phase to the final product. He came to my house and walked me through a plan that would both meet my needs as well as my budget. He came in $2,000 below the other companies quotes to install a new high-efficiency triple pass Pensotti cast iron boiler and 50 Gallon electric hybrid heat pump hot water heater. Tom was able to get us the Efficiency Maine Rebate on our water heater, he even processed the paper work for us and took the cost right off our bill, no extra work on our part. I had installed a 3rd heat zone in my house for our basement 4 years ago. While Tom was on sight he improved on my own original work from 4 years ago and upgraded the basement thermostat to a programmable model for no extra charge. Tom and his crew were professional, straightforward and down to earth. They also worked hard to leave no trace behind. In fact we had to convince him to leave the box for the hot water heater behind so the kids could play with it :) I would recommend Coastline Air Mechanical Services to anyone."

"I have been a client at Phil's for about two years and have always been completely satisfied with the quality of the work done on my 2002 Toyota Camry. I also appreciate the cordiality and high level of customer service provided by Bruce and his staff, and how well I am informed about needed work. I highly recommend Phil's. It is always busy there, which is another indication of quality work. <br />"

FAQs for air ducts & vents cleaning service projects in Portland, ME

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that air duct cleaning is not required unless visible issues such as mold buildup, rodent droppings, or excessive dust are present. When such conditions exist, cleaning becomes essential to protect indoor air quality and maintain HVAC efficiency. This approach minimizes potential health risks and extends the system’s life.

Air ducts must be cleaned every three to five years as required by NADCA to preserve system efficiency and indoor air quality. The EPA insists that cleaning is necessary only when significant issues such as mold, pest infestations, or heavy dust accumulation are evident. Annual inspections by a certified professional promptly address any emerging concerns.

The ideal seasons for air duct cleaning are spring and fall. Cleaning during these periods prepares your HVAC system for the demands of both winter heating and summer cooling. These seasons provide moderate weather conditions that enable efficient service completion while minimizing disruption, ensuring your system performs at its peak.

Professional air duct cleaning takes a fixed duration of two to five hours, depending on the home’s size and the complexity of the duct system. Smaller residences with standard ductwork complete the service in two hours, while larger homes with extensive ducts require up to five hours. Additional repairs may extend this duration.

To prepare for professional air duct cleaning, ensure all vents are unobstructed by moving nearby furniture and clearing pathways. Secure any pets in a safe area and confirm that your HVAC system units are easily accessible for technician inspection. Proper preparation contributes to a higher quality service outcome and prevents delays, allowing the cleaning process to proceed efficiently.
