"My husband and I have lived in our house 47 years and thus gone through several fences. Connor’s is by far the best! As my husband and I were unsure of exactly what we wanted, he provided us with 3 estimates along with ideas and suggestions. It took him only two days during the January cold snap to completely remove and build our new wood fence including 3 gates and hauling away the debris. This young man did this by himself! We are so impressed with his skill snd work ethic! He is not only hard working but easy to talk with. He knows his stuff! You can tell he enjoys his work. We hardily recommend him!"

"Midway Fence LLC did an outstanding job! Ramon Olmos suggested a better design for the repair / replacement of the posts that will far exceed the life of the original ones, and Midway's bid was 50% cheaper than the other bids received without the improved design changes. The work was completed in one day even through the terrain was very challenging. I will be using Midway Fence LLC for our HOA neighborhood repair / replacement needs."

"I had a great experience from beginning to end. The ease of planning virtually with detailed drawings made me skeptical they could deliver on budget. I was happily surprised and am finally enjoying a quality cedar fence! Thank you especially to Hector!"

"The process went well. There was a small hiccup in scheduling the vist to my property in order for Duke to prepare a job estimate, but the issue was quickly resolved. Duke came by and inspected the existing fence with me. I pointed out the problem. He suggested steel pipes placed into concrete and then the pressure treated posts to be installed over the steel pipe, thus keeping the wood away from the ground and the water. The existing fence panels could be reused. He said that the work could start in about a week and would take only one day. I received his bid and the bids from two other Angie List companies. All the bids were comperable, but with the scope of work as suggested by Duke, his bid was actually less than the others. I agreed to his bid and he later called with a date and time that the crew would arrive to do the work. The crew arrived a little early, but as I was home that was fine. They then removed the panels, extracted the posts, prepared new postholes, fixed the new posts, with the steel pipe, into the holes, prepared concrete in the holes and supported the posts unitl the concrete set. The old fence panels were then properly nailed back onto the new posts. The crew removed the old posts and cleaned the job site. They did have to deal with the existing landscaping and planting beds. There was not option to standing on some of the ground cover plants, but they were fairly careful and I did not notice any real damage to the plantings. I was very happy with the work done and have no complaints."

"Very satisfied with my new fence. Built well, straight and beautiful, it was complete in three days including demo of the old fence. Plus the smell of cedar is outstanding. I'd recommend Cedar River Construction for cedar fences!"

FAQs for wood fence repair projects in Preston, WA

Financial responsibility depends on where the fence sits. If it’s clearly inside your lot, you foot the bill. When it’s right on the property line, state laws—California and Illinois are two examples—usually require both neighbors to split repair costs equally unless you agree otherwise. Check your local rules before scheduling work so you know exactly what you’re on the hook for.

Start by walking the fence line and noting every issue—loose boards, leaning posts, cracked panels. Next, gather at least three quotes from licensed contractors, comparing experience, warranties, and costs. Once you pick a pro, they’ll secure materials, reset posts, and fix or replace damaged sections. A thorough inspection and a qualified contractor keep the fence safe and extend its life.

Straightening a leaning fence costs an average of $200 to $400. A fencing pro will assess the damage, reset or replace the posts, and realign the panels so the fence stands upright again. Fixing the lean early on prevents further strain on framing and keeps the structure both sturdy and attractive.
