"They did a great job replacing our front and back walkways with pavers and installing drainage, and also replaced our front and side foundation plantings. Ryan was very professional and his workers were excellent."

"I am amazed at the calibre of work Cambridge Landscapes did on my back yard. This included a retaining/sitting wall, a fire pit area and a long walkway and patio around the side of our house. Using only the finest materials, and professional, experienced installers, I watched as my sad back yard became an oasis! Many thanks to Scott, Katie and Miguel for their insights and for shepherding this project from the beginning to its completion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

Small jobs welcome

"The work Jason performed met all of my expectations. The work included about 700 SF of patio in three separate areas at various grades, installation of drainage pipes to capture gutter flow, and repointing and repair of the foundation wall. He worked clean, constantly communicated to explain what was next and to get clear direction on the steps and my expectations. His attention to detail outstanding, and his pride in work was apparent with everything he did. His number is saved for the next project and I highly recommend him."

"We got a patio done on land that was not level. They leveled it and laid out the patio seemlessly without requiring any supervision. Love the work and quality"

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Princeton, NJ

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
