I had a gas leak last week in the heart of the coldest weather in ten years: PSE&G just shut off the gas and left; and Alex was the only plumber who responded, to my urgent calls for help as the house cooled down. He was reassuring, came that day to take a look, arrived punctually with a helper the next day, and did a 3-hour repair (it involved work outside and in a crawl space) quickly, efficiently, and professionally. He cleaned up thoroughly, and left me with heat back on and hot water restored. PSE&G came the next day to remove the red tag and approve his work. All this for a third of the price the big companies wanted to charge me! "On Friday, April 25th 2014 I was having a vinyl floor installed at my house in my kitchen.  I have a bi-level single family home so my kitchen is right above my family room.  The flooring installers, American Carpet South, were nailing down underlayment and put a nail through one of my water pipes.  I walked downstairs and heard dripping so I ran and shut off the water and the ceiling was soaking wet.  I immediately came to Angie's List to look for plumbers to call and saw the good reviews that EFD had so I called them and the owner, Ed, answered after a couple of rings, I frantically told him that I was looking for someone to come out that day and see what happened.  He said that he could be here within an hour or two and he held true to his word.  He came in, took a look at the ceiling and then started to remove small pieces until he could clearly see that a nail from the flooring installers went through the water pipe.  He waited at our house until his crew arrived and they fixed it within 20 minutes.  Everyone was very professional and the work was high quality.  I would certainly call them again the next time I have a plumbing issue and recommend them to anyone else.
