"Russ contacted me very soon after my HomeAdvisor request. The flooring was done professionally and took less than 6 hours for a kitchen and a sitting room. That includes removing carpet prior to install and total cleanup after! I LOVE my new floors and I would recommend them to anyone!"

"Since this wasn't a rush job, we worked out a mutually agreeable time.  They arrived at the date/time we arranged. They replaced the leaking tub faucet with a replacement I had already purchased.  Works great.  The pipe leading to outdoor spigot was leaking into wall, and they were able to find the small leak and fix it.  While looking for the leak, they discovered a highly corroded pipe on hot water heater that was just starting to drip, pointed it out and fixed it while there.  All and all they were there about 2 hours. Good work.  Note: they pick up their mess but do not sweep up after themselves, which I would prefer to do myself anyway, and not have them charge me for the time it takes for them to do it. <br />    They mentioned they are getting more service calls as they are still willing to do small jobs, while other plumbers will not handle the small jobs.   As with most plumbers, much of the fee is for them showing up, so bundle jobs if you can! <br />   I will definitely use them again. <br />"

"Overall it was a very positive experience; one of the best I have had with HVAC sales, service and installation. <br /> Steve, the gentleman who does their sales, accommodated my schedule very well, and was extremely knowledgeable in the available systems and the benefits/drawbacks of each system.  He was invaluable in determining the best system to go with given utility availability in our neighborhood.  He had facts, figures, and data at the ready to show what the best options were, and all data was independently verifiable (sources for information were made available). <br /> After reviewing the options and discussing the cost/benefit of each item, I settled on the combination of air handler and heat pump that made the most sense for my location.  It was much less anxiety-inducing than I thought it would be; Steve was very open and forthright with his input.  Rather than simply pushing the ultra-high-end items, we reviewed the cost-benefit side, which made me very confident that we had the proper combination. <br /> About 3 weeks later, the equipment was in and we were ready to schedule the service.  We scheduled a day that was suitable, and Matt (their installation technician) arrived on-time and ready to go.  He had 2 assistants with him over the course of two days; I apologize that I don't recall their names.  Matt and both assistants were always prompt, courteous, and professional without being overly stuffy.  It's nice to be able to have a conversation without it being clinically sterile!  They worked quickly, and had the majority of the equipment installed on the first day, including the fabrication of a custom base on which to mount the furnace.  The second day was much like the first; they arrived within 2 minutes of their scheduled time, and were able to complete the installation (including setup of the control system) by noon that day. <br /> All technicians used shoe covers while in the home to prevent tracking water and dirt in from outside.  If they had they had to leave the premises, they were sure to let me know departure time and anticipated return time.  Everything was installed properly and to code, and everything was cleaned up to at least the same condition it was originally in (if not better). <br /> I also received follow up contact to make sure we were happy with the results of the installation and whether we had any questions regarding the overall process.  Happily, we had no issues and everything was explained well enough that we did not need any additional visits or training. <br /> I would highly recommend Gary & Sons to anyone looking to replace or upgrade their heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.  There are many in this industry that are not as straightforward and knowledgeable, and that take shortcuts...Gary & Sons definitely go the extra mile, and it's worth every penny. <br />"

"We changed a (rental) house from oil heat and electric hot water to gas for both. The house was getting new gas service, so Brad had to run a new supply line from the meter to the basement where the furnace and hot water heater are, then connect the new appliances to the existing water and (forced air) duct systems. Brad coordinated with the gas company and got everything installed in good time. We expect about a 3-year payback, given how much cheaper natural gas is. <br /> I've previously reported on plumbing work Brad has done. I reaffirm that (he's done additional plumbing work in the last year), and continue to say that Brad is a top-quality tradesman whom I trust thoroughly."

"They had been out like ten days before, and the issue expanded. I paid eight hundred dollars two weeks before, did not get me anywhere with the five thousand dollar repair. Just disappointed that the inspection and work which was done within an month prior, did not capture the problem. It ended up being so expensive for that visit."

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"They came out twice a year, once to get it ready for winter, and once to convert it for the summer. If you have a problem in the meantime, they come out and you pay for the parts that you need, but you don't need for the labor. I have never had a problem with them. They are reliable. When they come in the house, if they walk through the house, the put on little booties over their shoes, which I think is very respectful. They clean up after themselves. I never had a complaint and I have used them for years and years. I have never done any comparison, so there may be somebody less expensive, but when you have somebody coming into your house, you want to be comfortable, and that is worth a lot. I am happy with these guys. They installed the system, so they know. They give you a window and if they are going to be late, they will call. My pet peeves is to take time off from work, and they don't show up, but I have never had that with them."

"We visited about six suppliers and installers of granite kitchen counters on September 2, 2014. Prior to our search, we went to Angie's List in order to narrow our choices. We asked each firm to give us an estimate based on the sketch and measurements we provided them. Lesher's was the final stop as planned as we were most impressed by the reviews on Angie's List. <br /> We saw an unique granite counter top at Lesher's. This was in stock. We reviewed the back splash choices with Diane in the showroom and opted to pick one to match the counter top. We decided to have the tiles put on vertically instead of the normal horizontal installation. The prices provided to us was more than competitive. <br /> We received the quote on October 3rd, 2014. While the quote took a little longer than anticipated, we weren't in a hurry and Diane kept us aware of what was going on. The paperwork accompanying the quote stated the back splash we had selected was discontinued. We made another trip to Middletown and select another tile pattern as wll as a new faucet/sink from a store recommended by Diane. BTW, Lesher's was extremely busy at that time of the year, We didn't have any completion date in mind which worked well for both parties. <br /> We sent them a deposit, and they scheduled a visit to do the template on October 13th. The old counter top was removed on October 24th,  and our new one installed later in the morning. We had picked out a new faucet and sink after our second visit to Lesher's, and which also was installed on the same day. There were some wall repairs required after they removed our old counter/ back splash that morning. <br /> The tiled back splash was installed over three days on November 21, 22 and 24, 2014. <br /> We are extremely pleased with the entire process, including the costs. They were very respectful of our home and did a far better job than we had done on our previous house. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Punxsutawney, PA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
