"Gene is very straightforward about what he can do, also with great knowledge on the task at hand. Gene and Jeff arrived early and then went right to work. Had me go out and see if things were as I wanted them. They finished the job in a timely manner and very professional in the way they handled themselves. Thanks again Gene and Jeff! Chuck Cupples"

Customers say: Quick response

"The work was done thoroughly and Jim did the extra of making sure things in the yard were not damaged. He did a great job of getting our yard graded to eliminate water issues we had from torrential rain storms. He listens and explains what he needs to do. I had to move some landscaping rock so he could drive his Bobcat through the front yard. He cleaned up at the end of the work."

"Jerry Finney and his team were amazing to work with. I have never had a home renovation project go so smoothly. Jerry was great at keeping us updated on the progress, gave us realistic timelines and his team showed up everyday as promised. They were kind, professional and respectful. The cleanup was perfect and each piece of the project went smoothly. I couldnâ t be more thrilled. We had our pool filled in and turf added to the backyard, our rock in the yard was refreshed and we had new gates added to our yard. We will be spending a lot of time enjoying our low maintenance backyard. A HUGE thank you to Jerry and his team for a job well done. I would highly recommend AZ Home Services, you wonâ t be disappointed."

Small jobs welcome

"We hired this company to excavate our empty lot in Laveen to install empty conduits and properly grade the property. They did an excellent job from start to finish. The crew was professional, punctual, and very knowledgeable about the excavation process. They completed the trenching for the conduits efficiently and made sure everything was placed correctly. The grading was done with great attention to detail, leaving the property level and ready for the next phase of construction. Communication was clear throughout the project, and they kept the job site clean and organized. I truly appreciate their hard work and would highly recommend them to anyone needing excavation or grading services. "

FAQs for excavation major grading or resloping projects in Queen Creek, AZ

You can excavate in winter, but frozen soil slows down the process and increases labor costs. Many grading companies offer discounted rates during their off-season, so ask for a winter quote and weigh the savings against a longer timeline. A brief conversation with a local professional will help determine whether cold-weather excavation is suitable for your site.

Foundation digs can be completed in as little as three days or take up to three weeks. Soil density, access, weather, and hidden obstacles all play a role, so every timeline is a bit different. Have your contractor walk the site and flag any potential issues early—clear expectations help keep both the schedule and budget on track.

You must always call 811 before excavating. Dial 811 a few days in advance so that utility crews can mark underground lines and ensure the area is safe for digging. Hitting a buried cable or gas pipe can be both dangerous and expensive, and many municipalities will not issue permits unless the site is flagged correctly.

To remove soil during an excavation project, your crew will load the spoil into dump trucks with a backhoe or excavator, haul it to a disposal site, and return for the next load. Efficient hauling keeps the work zone clear and the project moving. Depending on the site and volume of osil, multiple trucks may rotate to maintain a steady flow.
