He came and looked at the kitchen and bathroom, he stated that he will do everything and that everything was included, he came me a place to go and place an order for cabinets and bathroom supplies, I went and then he came back to take measurements and then stated that I would have to buy everything myself, then I said no just do the bathroom and gave him a check for 30,000. He never sent the kitchen layout and when my family looked over the contract, he stated that he had to remove counter tops and there were none to remove and the work that he was going to do was not what he stated. He texted that he was going to call me back and never did."

Most straightforward door frame replacements don't require building permits since they're considered minor improvements that don't affect structural elements. However, if your project involves widening the door opening, creating a new doorway, or modifying load-bearing walls, you'll likely need to obtain a permit from your local building department. For a DIY interior door installation, you'll need basic tools including a tape measure, level, power drill with various bits, screwdriver set, hammer, utility knife, and shims. You might also need a saw for trimming the door if necessary, sandpaper for smoothing edges, and a chisel for creating hinge mortises.
