"Shaban from Westbound Appliance Repair came out to fix my refrigerator and made the whole process easy. He was on time, very professional, and also just a genuinely friendly person to deal with. He explained what was going on and got it fixed without any hassle. Everything’s been working perfectly since. Really glad I called them, and I’d definitely recommend Westbound Appliance Repair to anyone who needs a reliable fix."

Paul (owner of Mikita Construction) is everything you want in a contractor.  I hired him to build a 640 sq Ft addition/attached -in-law quarters that will include a fairly large kitchen expansion and remodel.

After our initial consultation with Paul, we received a quote that was rather high.  After some clarification, Paul gave us a high quote based on a lot of 'unknowns'.  We didn't have any specifics selected prior to his consultation: appliances, electrical fixtures, paint, flooring etc etc... so Paul gave us a high quote that would naturally be adjusted lower as the project developed and evolved depending on material that we selected.

It should be noted that Paul was up front that his specialty is "framing" and that we hired him to be the project manager for the project - which means that he was/is in charge of hiring sub contractors that will work under his supervision for what he hires them for.

Paul is honest and forthright in his approach and takes accountability if there are incident(s) that go wrong.  We only had one incident involving bad weather which resulted in some unfortunate and unexpected material damage - without issue Paul stepped up and addressed the issue to our complete satisfaction.  Additionally, my project required City inspections and, to my knowledge, he passed every inspection 1st time around.

Our project is finally completed, my families' only frustration was the natural lengthy time period it took for project completion - 3-4 months.  Paul was completely aware of the frustration and did his absolute best to move things along.  Mikita Construction has a Facebook page that you can view his work from and he also comes ready and prepared with references.

Throughout the project we added on many 'odds and ends' - extra lighting, concrete walk-ways as well as fixing some dry-wrought issues that were pre-existing.  All of those things had me concerned about our over all budget.  Paul was aware of my concerns and ensured me we would be on budget - which he met.  My wife and I have already made plans for additional renovation in the future and FULLY intend to hire Paul to do the work.

One of my biggest concerns before starting this project was hiring a bad contractor.  I am so happy to be able to refer Paul as an AWESOME contractor.  If I had questions, issues, concerns... Paul was always willing to listen, educate, help, come up with solutions and put the customer at ease.  Lastly, there were a number of different sub contractors that were involved on my project.  I'm incredibly happy that I hired Paul to hire and manage the sub contractors, I simply wouldnt have been able to do it.

This is one happy and completely satisfied customer.

"Very nice, responsible, and financially fair service contractor. Best one in a while and would hire SAFE APPLIANCE REPAIR SERVICES anytime we have an appliance issue in the future. Oh, they do all appliances but vacuums. Service Repair person was fabulous, but didn't leave anything with his personal name. Darn!"

FAQs for appliance (microwave oven) installation and replacement projects in Rancho Cordova, CA

A pro can finish the job in one to three hours. Countertop models are the quickest, but built-in, drawer, and over-the-range units take longer because the installer may need to run a new outlet, modify cabinets, or add venting. Any add-ons can push the timeline closer to the three-hour mark. Hiring a licensed installer ensures the wiring is safe and the appliance operates at peak performance.

Because an over-the-range microwave doubles as a range hood, it needs proper venting. You can opt for a recirculating model that filters and recirculates air back into the kitchen, or a ducted unit that exhausts outdoors. Are you unsure which route suits your cooking style? Ask your installer for guidance before making a purchase.

Only microwaves labeled “over-the-range” have the built-in venting and lighting that’s necessary for safe, code-compliant use above a stove. Countertop models don’t have those safeguards. Before you swipe your card, have a licensed microwave installer confirm you’re choosing the right unit for the space and ensure compliance with local codes.

It’s best not to install a countertop microwave in your cabinets. Countertop models aren’t designed for use in an enclosed cabinet, and blocking those vents can trap moisture or even create a fire hazard. A built-in or drawer microwave is designed for tight spaces. Run your plans by an installer to make sure you’re buying the right style for the spot.

You don’t need an electrician if the outlet already meets the microwave’s power needs and sits in the right spot. In that case, you’re good to go ahead with the installation. If the outlet is undersized, outdated, or too far away, hire a licensed electrician to install a new one and ensure everything is code-compliant.

With routine care, most microwaves last between five and 10 years. To help them reach their maximum lifespan, wipe up spills immediately, wash the grease filter periodically, avoid using metal dishware, and close the door gently. Those simple habits reduce malfunctions and keep the appliance running smoothly for the long haul.
