"Rob arranged to come out or have his staff come out quickly. They were professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. They resolved both issues immediately, and at a very reasonable price. Rob approaches the job by identifying the root cause of the problem and fixing it so that the problems I experienced did not reoccur."

"What a wonderful plumber! He is competent, diligent, responsive and honest. I only wish the other contractors I have dealt with were on par with this man. I will not let anyone else do plumbing for me. And, this is probably the forth or fifth time I have used him over the years."

"The work was a lot more extensive (and expensive) than we anticipated. Roots had clogged our house's sewer mainline and the piper were no longer aligned. The fix included installing a liner inside of the pipes to prevent future leeks and root penetration. Ruben, Tommy C, and Tommy S were punctual and worked their butts off to get the job done in two days. They were very professional and would hire them again for future jobs (although I hope that I don't have another job as big as this one in a long time)."

"<p>We had a water leak in the kitchen that was the result from  the hot/cold water valve leaking into the wall from upstairs . Called Cody around 11 am and he said he could be at my house between 12 and 2 .  He arrived around 130pm with an assistant named Anthony. Within minutes they had diagnosed the problem and promptly got to work. They were both very professional and pleasant to be around . Got the job done quickly  and cleaned up nicely after the work was done. Cody also explained everything that needed to be done very well and seems to really know his profession. I would definitely use GL plumbing again in the future.</p> <br />"

"We set an appointment with an approximate time range of about an hour. The guy showed up, diagnosed the issue and performed a very professionally looking repair. (I was working, so only saw the resultant repair). He had to remove some stucco from the outside wall around the pipe to complete the repair. It looked well done, but he did not repair the wall. I'm guessing my wife decided I would take care of it to save some money. :) It was very easy to fill in, fix and repaint *luckily I had left over paint from when we repainted the house about a year ago)."

"I did not go thru Angie to hire this company. My longtime plumber could not help because they were on vacation and Franklin and Vizzo were recommended. Upon calling them I was told there would be a travel fee, since I was in another city. By the way it was 15 miles from their business. Okay that was fine, I didn't ask how much at the time (maybe I should have). Anyway, they found the part and arrived the next day (a Saturday), the part was installed and I it worked (for a while). Sunday the water heater stopped heating. I called again and told them the problem, they came back on Monday (mind you now it is 3 full days without hot water) and installed another new thermostat, which by the way did finally work. I not only had to pay for another installation, but the travel fee $134 was excessive. Never calling them again."

"Service was, hands down, the best I've ever had for plumbing in this 1960s-built house! Mike was quick to troubleshoot the problem, had the drain cleared in no time, was careful not to track dirt into the house (an extremely important criterion for my wife), and was ss pleasant as could be. I really enjoyed meeting him, and will call him first for any future plumbing needs. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Rancho Mirage, CA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
