"Time consuming but worth it. They understood Ann Arbor's local ordinances better than any other bidder, and were the most competitive bidder (if not by much, but they still were the lowest bidder). They made multiple trips to ensure the estimate was accurate and took pains to find a fencing solution that would comply with Ann Arbor's convoluted rules, yet be both functional and aesthetic. Multiple install trips as well, to deal with tree removal issues and weather problems. Final installed fence is beautiful. We likely will follow up because the locks installed on the two gates installed are proving difficult to manage, but I fully expect this issue to be resolved satisfactorily. (We have not yet contacted them about this, so it's not their fault that this issue remains unresolved - it's been a complicated year for us and, having worked with them, we trust in their ability to resolve this concern later. If we are wrong about this, we'll follow up on our review.) We found Upright Fence through Angie's List, and it was a good recommendation. We would do it all again exactly as it happened if given the option. We are so relieved to have the old, collapsing wooden fence removed and a new, vinyl fence - properly installed along the lot boundaries. Our thanks to the Upright team...we can understand why they've been in business so long. Experience does indeed count for something."

"Michigan Fence installed our Mocha Vinyl fence in the fall of 2017. The owner was very responsive, very professional, friendly and not pushy. He came to the house for the measuring and to understand what we were looking for. He followed up with sample pictures and the quote. The crew (two gentlemen) who did the install were very friendly and professional. They asked us for our preferences for presented solutions if they ran into issues. The job was supposed to take 3 days but due to extremely heavy rain one of the days it took 4 days (which was no problem and we completely understood!) We love our fence it is beautiful and the experience went extremely well. They only use high quality materials so their cost might be on the higher side? we don't know cost comparison since we did not get any other quotes. If we ever move and need another fence this company will be our first choice! We are so thankful to have a nice looking sturdy fence! Great experience and product!"

"Joel from Lars David was easy to work with and typically responded int e reasonable time frame. The only real delay was trying to nail down an installation date (all the deck builders are really busy thus time of year). As it was new construction I told them I wanted to get them in before the sprinklers and sod went in to avoid them trampling the new sod but could not hold off getting the sprinklers and sod any longer. Once I gave them dates for the sprinkler and sod installation the hustled to get the deck installed before ahead of the sod. Their initial crew arrived on a Wednesday to dig the post holes and lay down the plastic and rock that would be under the deck. Thursday was the post hole inspection. They started the installation on Friday and finished up on Saturday. There was only one small issue I had where there was a downspout where the deck was going. When I asked their plan for that downspout the installers indicated they planned on cutting a hole in the deck to run it through. As the downspout was next to a corner of the house I told them to simply remove the bottom portion and I would re-route it off the side of the house so they would not need to cut a hole in my brand new deck. I simply wish they would have asked what I wanted to do about the downspout, but I also was not home, except for 30 minutes, during any of the installation so they would have needed to call me about it. I was home when the inspector came by after the installation. The city inspector said they were the best builder he deals with and that I chose well when selecting the deck contractor. <br /> Overall I'm very pleased with the work they performed. The price was slightly less than what I was quoted form a few other contractors for trex composite decking yet I got fully synthetic decking instead (less potential issues with full synthetic vs composite). <br />"

"Many years ago my late husband worked for a fence company, so I know all the problems that customers can face, and the excuses they can be given. I was in town for a limited amount of time (3 weeks), and yet they managed to complete the entire job in plenty of time. All the workers- on the ground, salesman, and woman in the office were so very helpful and professional. When I had to call back to get the gate adjusted, they were back out here the next day. Neighbors have already said how nice it looks. If you want competency and quality, as well as friendliness, make this your fence company. <br /> It is also good to deal with a company that is in Detroit. <br />"
