"This review could be entitled "A Tale of Two Baldis" as I have engaged different parts of their business and had extremely different experiences: (1) landscape design and installation with Ricardo (to which this review applies) and (2) landscape maintenance with Giuseppe (which I will address in a separate review). My experience with Ricardo's work is that he is thoughtful and professional, that he really seems to have a deep understanding of plants and the local environment and brings that to bear on his design and recommendations. We wanted to bring a little more color to our landscaping with plants that were sustainable (would not require yearly re-plantings) and which would succeed in the local environment given the soil type, sun exposure, and so forth. Ricardo gave us that. His installation went a bit longer than expected but there were no additional charges for that, and he also offered to relocate a Japanese Maple at no additional cost, and the finished product was according to plan. Because the installation happened in December when we were experiencing a period of extended cold weather, we were worried that installed plants would die. A number did, in fact, not make it through the winter. That said, the plants were backed with a warranty and Ricardo promised to replace any that did not survive. He did follow through on that promise and replaced the dead plants, though it did take a somewhat long time for that re-installation to occur. I would also say that Ricardo is not always quick to respond or set up meetings, but that is not an acute or pronounced problem."

"The arborist examined every tree in the yard and discussed root, bark, and leaf issues particular to each tree, pointing out conditions that were detrimental to the health of the tree and existing conditions that, although present, were not harmful to the tree. He educated us about fertilizing, watering, aerating, and proper root flare exposure. He gave us written instructions on how to care for the trees as well as an estimate for his company to perform some of the recommended treatments. We hired the company to expose the root flares on about 25 mature trees. The crew arrived on time, were expeditious in completing the work, and cleaned up thoroughly. The cost was exactly what was estimated and the consultation fee was applied toward the total cost."
