"NTL was very professional and courteous. The owner and workers are hard-working and thorough in their process. I am very satisfied with the work they completed. Prior to hiring them, I spoke with other companies and NTL was the only one who could do the job at a very reasonable cost. Overall, I highly recommend them for their masonry services."

"They did an excellent job on our driveway. They replaced asphalt with pavers. They also installed stones around our front door. Both turned out great. Jim dropped by everyday to check on the progress. His crew were professional and cleaned up daily."

Customers say: Terrific value

"Pitched the driveway away from the street back towards the house so water pools when it rains. Said they would be back to fix it after arguing and saying “the customer isn’t always right” even though it’s very obvious what they paved is not level. After months of not hearing anything they came and paved my neighbors driveways on both sides and never even fixed mine. Original owner sold to employee…avoid, you get what you pay for."

"Fernando was so quick in responding to me regarding our project. He was extremely punctual, and the project was completed in a few hours. We had a 12x12 concrete pad put in for a shed. I would hire him and his crew again!"

"American Home replaced my roof and siding, porch windows and some add-on exterior lighting. One of the reasons I chose AHR was not just due to the best price, they came in line with other estimates I received, but because they included things with their final price that similar companies had as add-ons at an extra cost such as the dumpster and gutter system. I did not know what to expect as this was the first time I've had these things replaced. My rep John was awesome, he was professional, friendly and accommodating, and was able to work with me on the spot vs. "I have to check back to the owners" which I got from other companies. John was readily available by phone, text, and in person. He walked me through all the steps, timelines, and the whole process. After the crew finished, he took my list of 'nit-pick' things and made sure they were addressed. Overall I am satisfied with the job, In fact, we recommended them to our neighbors who hired them to do their siding this Spring."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Red Bank, NJ

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
