"Josh from Lindsay's landscaping was aerating our neighbors lawn.  He asked if we wanted ours done for $20.  He did the front lawn and then I asked him about the back lawn.  He said he would do it for another $10, but I told him he better look at if first.  It is probably at least twice as large as front lawn.  So he agreed to do it for another $20.  He did a great job.  He was very friendly and professional.  He got right to it and didn't waste any time.  I would highly recommend him.  He even gave me some advice on taking care of my lawn, which I really appreciated. <br />"

"Owner Jason is a very personable man who does things right. He was very prompt in returning my call requesting a bid, arrived on time for the meeting, and arrived to do the work right when he said he would.  He and his helper did an excellent job, kept the area clean, and at a reasonable price. If I ever need concrete work again in the future, I would not hesitate to call him again. Thanks Jason! <br />"

"The finished product is beautiful - even though it's just a big carport. Proof that it is not only beautiful but functional was when I hosed it all off for the first time.....no puddling or low spots. It drains off in the way he said it would. This is not the first job Ted has done for me. A few years earlier he poured a driveway, sidewalks and even my pool decking. It still looks great! He is my go-to guy for concrete! <br /> <br />If you want a man who knows this business (35+ years experience) and who will be honest and straightforward with you about costs, what looks best, how to get the job done right, Ted is that guy. Concrete work is detail work. He doesn't settle for anything less than perfect in my opinion. <br /> <br />"

". I called Bruce and he returned my call within 5 minutes and we scheduled an appointment for him to come and look at everything. He showed up at the exact time we had scheduled and as we went over the various items, it was clear that he was very knowledgeable and experienced in this area. He immediately identified the problems with the doors that wouldn’t close and was able to fix both of them that day. We scheduled another appointment for him to anchor the bookshelves and install some new door handles. I was interested in having some earthquake latches that I found on Amazon installed on my kitchen and garage cupboards and he took a look at the latches and could see immediately the best way to install them and was able to install all of them in record time. Bruce charged an hourly rate and worked incredibly quickly and efficiency. He listed some of the other kinds of projects he can do, and I will definitely be calling him again in the future."

"I was very please with their accuracy and skill level. The crew was very professional and worked like a well oiled machine. Yes, there was one critical error, but their correction was dead on prefect and I received exactly what I wanted."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Redding, CA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
