"I have used Daryl Howard Electrician for several home improvements. Recently Justin from his team replaced a chandelier in master bedroom, replaced 3 exterior flood lights, capped unused landscaping lights and replaced a faulty outdoor outlet. Justin works quickly, does excellent problem solving to ensure the right things are fixed at the best price and completes the job with a high degree of craftsmanship. I continue to hire Daryl Howard’s company because he does excellent work at a reasonable price. He is also very professional and delightful to work with! Thank you Justin and Daryl!!!"

"I was concerned that the only electrical outlet in my garage was no longer working (that's where I re-charge my battery-operated lawn equipment). It turned out I only had to push the reset button in my bathroom (the only reset button in my home). I feel foolish, but I'm certainly learning a lot about electrical problems in my home and how to resolve them on my own! I appreciated the brief time Mariano G. was at my home to assist me in resolving the problem."

"They were able to get to my project very quickly and were patient with my schedule. The installation wasn’t the cleanest, there was a couple of holes and marks on the wall next to the instated outlet, but everything else was great."

"Excellent work.... Great price and completed the job in one day. Follow up after the job with a few loose ends however was not great, but willing to overlook because the work was done so well and was around the 4th of July holiday"

"The Pro Nathan did a good job overall. However, I was charged four hours, and I noticed that the time did not equal 4 hours after I saw Nathan take an hour's lunch, which I believe was added to the service hours. Additionally, I noticed after he left that he left the panel off of the circuit breaker, leaving it for me to re-install."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Richardson, TX

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
