"Since I had previously been very impressed with Salvador Gallardo / Authentic Landscape on an urgent repair for our leaking irrigation valve system, I called on him again for my long dreamed of overhaul of our entire front and back yard beginning May 22, 2024. He advertises "You can be sure that you will receive quality work with a personal touch" which is exactly what I needed. I had a rather vague plan and relied on his expertise to help develop my dream. The major goal was to completely remove all the turf, leaving only the trees, a grape arbor (which Salvador needed to redesign and expand), and a couple areas of plants. We used a turf replacement rebate and he and Jesus, plus his sons Christian and Jesse, spent 2 weeks digging out all the nasty weeds and a several-inch layer of dirt. Our irrigation system was converted to sprinklers for the garden areas and drip lines around the outer areas of trees and original landscape plants plus a new control unit. Some of the trees required some pruning also. It was fun working with Salvador to figure just where my front and back “gardens” and pebble pathways would go. We added slabs of flagstone around the front and back faucets and replaced the remaining area with shredded wood. Additionally, he replaced one entire gate and had to redesign and repair of my second gate. My back garden is essentially a lawn replacement of ground cover plants, and the front garden utilized a lot of succulents and several other plants dug out and from my pots plus lots of poppy seeds. We added some ground cover and a variety of other plants I found on clearance sales. We incorporated my collection of granite rocks, and I’ve continued detailing with decorative features to make my “Never Too Late For A Happy Childhood” theme garden with fairy, farm, lighthouse, and Santa and reindeer areas, lots of solar lights/fireworks, windchimes, spinners, toys and sculptures, While reasonably priced, it was an expensive project but, after 20 years of dreaming, so worth the smile I can’t quit. Obviously I continue to highly recommend Salvador and Authentic Landscape. The guys worked very hard and were a pleasure to have around. Being able to make well advised adjustments as work progressed was a great advantage to accomplishing my desires."

I had prepared a design for our small ~400 square foot patio that included new concrete, three small trees, several accent plants, and an expanded fence and pathway down the side of our home. I was pretty overwhelmed in the initial phases of receiving multiple estimates until I met with Michael and felt that he genuinely cared about my project and that I could trust his team. Michael, Ivan, and his team were highly professional and flexible throughout the whole process. Michael was great to work with to bring the design to life and provided many helpful tips and suggestions while maintaining our original vision and keeping the cost within our budget. The team made sure to clean after themselves after every day, leaving the work site safe and organized and the street cleaned up of any work materials that were used that day. I also had to leave town during the construction for and they were fine with putting things on hold until I returned, yet informed me that they could continue the work if I preferred. Michael and Ivan were great at answering any questions that I had to maintain the plants after the job completion. The project was completed ahead of schedule and the final product was everything that I imagined and more. My wife and I are so excited to be able to enjoy our new backyard and the amount of additional space and privacy we got out of expanding the fence is amazing. If you find yourself in a similar situation as myself where you felt like you couldn’t decide on which landscaping service to use, you found your team. Thank you again, Lavish gardens! "Jon came to my house. He was very pleasant. Did a quote. After a couple of days, I accepted it. I asked that he come to my home one more time to make sure we were clear on the work, and he said he'd let me know shortly when he could pass by. That was the last I ever heard from him. I take very seriously the importance of people, and potential vendors in particular, keeping their word. From what I've seen from other reviewers, this guy's inability to keep his word is a pattern that he has demonstrated time and again."

"Scheduling was a nightmare. No communication between the front office and their service technicians. They screwed up the scheduling on their end, so I had to take another day off. Also, when they finally did show up, they were rude. Usually, people with a language barrier are polite people, but these people treated me snootily. I can look past that but they left a mess everywhere. Rubber gloves, screws and paper were left in their work station when they left. When I went up into the attic to check the furnace connection, I found more trash and work debris. But what's worse, is they didn't move my insulation back after they were done working in the attic. Finally, when I cut them a check on the agreed contact, they told me it was the correct amount. Only later, their HR was calling me for more money. They really have been a terrible experience."
