"It went beyond amazing. We are first time home buyers, and this was our first ever inspection. Having no idea what to expect, this experience was well worth Kyle's fee. I learned more about our potential home in the 5 hours I spent worth Kyle, then I would have ever learned on my own if we went with a different inspector. Kyle wads punctual and thorough and professional through all aspects of our communication and the actual inspection. He is very verbal and actually cares about the client. He pointed out each and every potential issue and problem and also told me things to do (or not do to) in terms of fixing the issues. And he did find issues, but I am glad he did. I feel a buyer should know what is wrong with the house, so when you do buy it you know what to do to preserve and protect your investment. He explained everything he did, explained what he was looking for and explained the flaws when he found them. His report was detailed, filled with pictures and notes identifying what is wrong and what needs to be done to correct the issues. I would highly recommend Kyle to anybody who is serious about buying a house! <br />"

"Pat made sure my new home was up to par by performing a complete Home Inspection. He made absolutely sure everything was A ok before he left. He checked the septic system, insulation, signs of wood infestation pests, performed a water sample analysis and conducted a Radon emmisions test. He even followed up by returning to the property a few days later free of charge after I noticed something after the initial inspection. He made one of the most important steps in buying my first home stress free. He displayed a very good attitude which made him very approachable and easy to talk to. He made suggestions on the minor repair work that was identified and gave approximate times at which I should address each task. <br />"

"What a great company. We would recommend them to anyone who needed a home inspector. He was thorough and explained everything as he went through the home from what he was doing and why, to what he was seeing. The report we received was so detailed and thorough, very easy to read and had great pictures to show what he was describing in his report. He also recommended a Level 2 Chimney inspection which was definitely great advice since there was over $16,000 in repair work needed. I highly recommend this inspector."

"When I contacted the company on a Monday, I spoke with Jennifer. She was able to email me an estimate that afternoon, and we were able to schedule the installation for the next day. The installer arrived on time, was very professional, and only took two hours to install the system. I was sent an invoice on Wednesday to bring the job to a quick end. My experience with Soos was pleasant from start to finish, and I would highly recommend them."

"Mike came out for an estimate based on mold sighting during my home inspection and was very friendly explaining everything he would do as part of the service and information about thier warranty and product. He came back about a week later to treat the infected area (attic) and even asked about the basement and took a peek to make sure it also was not a problem, which he confirmed wasn't. Mike followed up to verify that all of the mold was killed a week later and followed up a second time by phone. He also advised me to look into venting my attic sometime in the future to improve overall air quality. I would and did recommend Mike to other people and use him again in the future."

"Tony is a PE (Professional Engineer) / Structural Engineer with enormous expertise about all things related to a home and he is NOT your "average Joe" home inspector. Tony is the BEST! Scheduling was a breeze - I was able to schedule the inspection over email. Tony is very prompt in email responses. He arrived on time and took the time (never rushed) and inspected every part of the house multiple times from multiple viewpoints to ensure he didn't miss anything. Tony is the poster child for going over the whole place with a fine-tooth comb. After the inspection, I received the home inspection report within 48 hours. The report was very detailed and easy to understand. There were many references in the report for standards & guidelines that need to be followed for any deficiences and also for anything safety related. Tony responded to all my follow-up questions about the report really quickly via email. On the surface level, Tony's service fee may feel like a little expensive but his services are worth every penny. Price is what you pay; value is what you get. If you want the BEST home inspector look farther than Tony!! P.S. I already referred Tony to my friend, who also hired him. I will be referring him to many more."

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Rockaway, NJ

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
