"Eric and John did plumbing work at my home a month ago, and I was happy to see their familiar faces arrive to replace our broken bathroom sink. I had purchased a replacement sink that was ready for installation. The cracked sink was removed and the new sink installed. Eric quoted the job before the work was done so I had no surprise costs upon completion. Because I had previously purchased Aquarius’ annual plumbing repair plan, I was able to save on the service fee and saved an additional 15% on the job. Once again, I was impressed with Eric and John’s professionalism and attention to detail. The replacement is installed better than the original had been by my previous plumbing company."

"Ryan did a fantastic job roughing in my post frame building for a bathroom and running a gas line extension from my house. The project had a small window to get the work done, making scheduling a plumber difficult. Citywide arrived on time and provided a professional service and product, rolling with changes that popped up during the build. I will definitely call on Citywide to finish the plumbing in the shop next year and to help with any other future work in our house! I will recommend them to my friends in the area!"

"There were several issues with the service: 1. It was costly. 2. They are not allowed to run over for time, so we had to schedule another 45-minute session for the work on the refridgerator 3. The copper line ran for the refrigerator did not have any coil to allow for "springing" when pulling the fridge in-and-out. 4. The plumber couldn't attach the waterline to the fridge. He determined that the threads were slipping on the fridge connector. As the last person to have personally tightened and/or loosened that connection, I can tell you it was water-tight before he touched it. Not being an expert, I can't tell you for sure that it wasn't me that damaged it the last time I loosened it, but I believe that scenario is unlikely. 5. The show drain still drains slowly. The plumber's suggestion to us was to remove the standard screen that is part of the tub. Not an expert, but the screen didn't seem any different from any other standard hair-trap-type screen, so it is hard to understand why this drain would be special. 6. We had several tiles from underneath the tub that were lying loose on the floor after the work was done on the drain. The plumber didn't note this or claim responsibility, but on this one I am *sure* they weren't off from where they were fastened prior to the work. Once again, maybe not his fault. Maybe they were shoddily installed. But to not even tell us about what happened (or to not notice it had happened as you were cleaning your work area) is a problem."

"Lonn arrived on time. He explained everything he was going to do, and verified the price for the water heater and city permit. He laid tarps down to protect our carpeted floor and stairs, and cleaned up after he was done. He also noticed that some of our pipe ceiling hooks/hangers were broken and he replaced those. They took the old water heater away the same day."

"North Central Plumbing, Inc. was wonderful. They were easy to schedule with and offered very competative pricing. On the day of the appointment Todd arrived right on time and got right to work. He was very efficent and the job was finished in a timely manner and was done perfectly. Almost a year later and the water heater still looks and runs like new. I will definitely be using North Central Plumbing, Inc. in the future and would recommend this business to all my family and friends for their plumbing needs. Their service is top notch with amazing customer service."

"He was prompt, prepared and challenged as well as the utility rooms in Townhouses are NOT very big. He needed to move the water softener out of the way first and then tackle the leaking water heater. He was up for the challenge and did an awesome job. Throughout the entire process of taking out the old and installing the new he explained everything to a 'T'. He took away the old and cleaned up the area around it. I'll continue to call Dana Hoagland Plumbing for all my plumbing needs. They're awesome to work with!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Rockville, MN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
