"1) 4/24/23 - DeGain visited our house to inspect our areas of concern and all the brickwork on the house. Note-brickwork was only on the lower part of the house. Our primary concern was the brickwork facing the front porch, which was the area I first pointed out to Degain.. 2) 4/25/23 - Degain mails an invoice. Item 01 of the invoice is for "Repointing Loose Brick An Holes" for $350. Other items were on the invoice, but they are not in dispute. 3) 4/26/23 - I told DeGain to proceed with the work on the invoice. 4) 5/16/23 - Since we were out of town, DeGain texts me to advise me that all the work was completed. 5) 5/16/23 - I voluntarily sent a check to DeGain for the brickwork, power washes, and poly sand, since I would not return home until 5/26/23 and did not want DeGain to wait for compensation for completed work. 6) 5/26/23 - I returned home an inspected the work completed by DeGain and discovered that the brickwork facing on the porch was not completed. 7) 5/16/23- I took a picture of the uncompleted brickwork facing the front porch and asked DeGain to schedule a date to complete the work. 8) 5/31/23 - DeGain texted back an asks if a 7/17/23 would work and I agree with the date. 9) 7/16/23 - Since were out of town again I texted DeGain to verify that Degain was going to complete the work and giving instructions on how to access our outside water. NO RESPONSE FROM DEGAIN. 10) 7/29/23 - We return home and find that the brickwork was still not completed. A text was sent to DeGain to complete the work as soon as possible. NO RESPONSE FROM DEGAIN. 11) 8/4/23 - I asked DeGain of $250 for the unfinished work. NO RESPONSE FROM DEGAIN 12) 8/11/23 - I sent a text to the DeGain and advised him that I have no choice but to refer the matter to Angi's. NO RESPOSE FROM DEGAIN 13) 8/12/23 - I ask Degain if they intend tomrespond. NO RESPONSE FROM DEGAIN. 14) 9/3/23 - I sent DeGain a partial chronology and advise him that ifwe don't settle this issue quickly, then I will take all necessary steps to resolve this issue. 15) 9/3/23 - DeGain finally responds asking why I'm so upset. He also says that the word "porch" was not on the invoice and therefore he had completed the brick work by repairing i the three bricks for $350. 16) I responded to DeGain that a) He visually inspected the brick work on the front porch and agreed that it needed repair, before the invoice was created. b) I did not ask him to work on the cement front porch, which needed no repair. Rather he was to do "Repointing, Loose brick, An Holes the vast majority was on the bricks facing the front porch. c) If DeGain believed that the brick work facing the front porch was not included, then why did Degain agree to complete the work on 7/16/23, based on a picture of the uncompleted work on the bricks facing the front porch. d) If the brick work facing the front porch was not included a price of $350 to replace the three bricks not facing the front porch is totally unreasonable. NO RESPONSE FROM DEGAIN. 9/7/23 - I contacted Angi's to get an understanding of the Appeal process, but did not file a formal complaint to see if I can resolve the issue with DeGain. 9/14/23 - I sent an email to DeGain advising them that I have contacted Angi's and made one final offer to resolve the issue. NO REPSONSE FROM DEGAIN 10/4/23 - Filed formal complaint with Angi's. Please note that I have the following: 1) A summary chronology with key pictures, documents, etc. 2) A detailed chronology which lists every written interaction with Degain, 3)Hard copies of emails, text screen shots, etc. to substantiate almost all elements o he chronologies. Please let me know where to send them if necessary. Please note that the ratings below are for the brickwork that was never completed only."

"I have never, ever felt the need to write a negative review about any company in my life. Until now. This company is the shadiest I have ever worked with. In the summer of 2023, I solicited bids to have my driveway resurfaced. After reviewing several bids, I went with Guardian because the sales guy (John) that came out seemed knowledgeable and trustworthy. They resurfaced my driveway in October 2023 at a cost to me of over $20,000 (I have a long driveway). I followed every instruction they gave me for proper care. It actually seemed to be fine the following spring when the snow started to melt. But in the spring, I had soft spots everywhere. Every tire turn created a tire mark depression. Anything metal placed on the driveway (from a bike kickstand to a 20 lb propane cylinder) left depressions. Keep in mind this was in April 2024, after it had cured for the entire winter. And it’s not like it was July and 90 degrees. I had been told by the sales guy John the previous year that the best thing to do was to put sealcoat on in the early spring. So I called in March to get on their schedule. They told me John no longer worked there and they don’t even do sealcoating until May. I started to get suspicious, but I agreed to have the sealcoating as soon as they could get to me, but first they would need to come take a look at the deficiencies and address the soft spots and depressions. A month goes by, so I call back again. I was nowhere on their list. So I asked to be put on the schedule again. Another month goes by with nothing. Finally a guy shows up at my house in July without calling ahead so I couldn’t be there to meet with him. He tells me on the phone he can see the problems, but sealcoating should definitely help. He tells me they will come out and fix the problems and then sealcoat. Another month goes by. I keep calling and literally pleading with them to speak to someone who gives a **** about customer satisfaction. They keep assuring me a crew will be out there soon. I was so ****** off I was about to write this review in late August, when suddenly a crew shows up one day. No phone call or advance notice. Just show up to fix the deficiencies. Not sure what they would have done if I hadn’t been home and there were cars parked in my driveway. The sealcoat guys come out a week later. That costs me another $1500. But at this point I’m just naively trusting this place is not a scam (stupid me). A week after the sealcoating, I’m still seeing soft spots, depressions, tire marks, etc. I call back to complain and I am told (yet again) that someone from management will return my call. That doesn’t happen. Finally I call late on Friday afternoon and the owner Pat happens to answer the phone. I give him the entire story and he tells me it sounds like it was a bad batch of asphalt (no **** Sherlock!!!). He assures me he will be out there that Sunday to meet with me and look at it. He doesn’t show up. I have since called back 3 times to complain. A few times, I get the receptionist who tells me someone will call me. Sometimes I just get voicemail and I leave a message pleading to let me speak to someone who cares. I never get a visit or a call from anyone. These people are con men, starting with the owner Pat. Once they got my $20,000, they gave me a terrible product and they don’t give a ****. Their communication is the most unprofessional I’ve ever seen. Stay away!!!"

Doing business since 1999. Options sealcoated driveways are broom applied never sprayed, highest standard m-dot grade hot rubber crackfiller material used on all jobs. We offer patch repair and paving services. Mention Angies list for a 10% discount not valid with any other offers
"Had our driveway replaced in May 2021 we were told the driveway would be 3” thick and tapered at 45 degrees on the side. It’s now August 2021 and we called the company with our concerns that we had some areas sinking, grass is growing through it, we have major dents in it and it appears some areas are not even 1” and tapered as per our contract. At the end of the driveway there is a 6’ dip that puddles after rain and takes days to dry up. Brion our contact proceeded to yell at my husband told him they were having a shi**y year and he would not lose sleep over marks in our driveway and hung up on him. Very unprofessional. So much for warranty and all we were promised."

Extending a driveway costs between $800 and $3,000 on average, with most homeowners paying around $1,900 for the completed project. This price range reflects variations in materials, size, and complexity. Factors such as excavation requirements, material selection, and your property's specific conditions will determine where your project falls within this range.
A driveway extension can enhance your property's value, particularly in neighborhoods where parking is limited. The improvement offers practical benefits that appeal to potential buyers, though the exact return on investment varies. In some situations, particularly when the extension is disproportionately large compared to the home or doesn't match the neighborhood aesthetic, it might not add significant value.
Permit requirements vary by municipality, but extensions that connect to public roads often require official approval. Many local governments regulate driveway width, drainage requirements, and setbacks from property lines. Consulting with your local building department before beginning work helps ensure compliance with all regulations and prevents potential fines or required modifications.
Proper drainage is essential for maintaining your driveway's structural integrity over time. If you notice water pooling around your existing driveway or erosion along its edges, incorporating drainage solutions into your extension project is highly recommended. Effective water management prevents damage from freeze-thaw cycles and erosion, significantly extending your driveway's useful life.
Your driveway extension installation timeline varies based on project complexity, but most extensions require several days to complete. The process includes initial planning, obtaining permits, site preparation, material installation, and curing time for certain materials like concrete. Weather conditions, contractor availability, and unforeseen site issues can all affect the completion timeline.
