Customers say: True professional

"The project went as planned. The crew arrived Monday, removed the old fence and dug holes for the new fence posts. Tuesday, they set the new posts in concrete. Wednesday, attached the cross members, and Thursday completed the fence. Friday morning finished hanging the very heavy gate and completing the job. <br /> A couple of additional comments: <br /> Blacksmith Fence rebuilt our cedar pool equipment enclosure that was destroyed in a storm for no charge after originally quoting a price in the initial quote. Additionally, they unexpectedly repainted not only the replaced driveway gate post, but the entire gate and existing post on the other side of the driveway at no charge. <br /> Generally, the workers arrived after we left for work in the morning and were gone by the time we returned home in the evening. I considered that a plus as we enjoy our evenings outside. <br /> I originally contacted Blacksmith Fence in April 2012 for a quote. I delayed scheduleing the job until September 2012. During this time, Ty stayed in contact and was prepared to start the job at my convenience. <br /> Very happy with the quality and professionalism. We chose this contractor solely based on the Angie's list reviews. We would use them again. <br /> <br /> Update 10/28/2012: If you want a privacy fence, make sure you specify no gaps between slats. After my initial favorable review of my fence, I realized the slats were places 1/4 to 3/8 apart. Not ideal when you want a privacy fence. I realize there are variances in the wood slats, but most of our slats were installed with a very large gap. When dealing with this vendor, make sure the slats are installed tight in the upfront negotiations. This is not something you can fix after the work is done. <br /> <br />"

"Andrea has been awesome to work with. She is extremely helpful and responsive before and after the sale. My new fence is now the nicest on the street thanks to her. I have the horizontal style with the sliding gate. And she came back after installation to program my car openers. I will do business with her and Texas Best Fence again."

"One of our cats damaged a family heirloom (Korean imported silk screen) by climbing on it. We have a very open floor plan house, and are limited as to where we could display it. My husband was so upset.. he was at the point where it was the cats or him.. but somebody was leaving. I searched the internet for a solution and found Invisible Fence of Greater Dallas. The website was more dog focused... but I called anyway, desperate for a solution. I was delighted to hear it could be used for cats. Bobby with Invisble Fence arrived promptly, and explained the system how it functioned and why it was a good selection for my cats. He evaluated the areas we wanted to deter the cats from and calibrated the disks to the appropriate field. He explained how the collars could be set to allow different pets into differnet areas, and how if we got a dog in the future, he could be added to the same system. Bobby assisted in helping us train the cats, so they would understand where the invisible barrier is, and how to escape the area. He also evaluated the cats to ensure that they were of suitable size ( 6 - 7 pounds min) for the system. One cat took immediately to the system and stopped accessing the "off limit" areas. The other cat persisted in entering the areas. Bobby returned at no cost to us, and incresed the shock level on her collar. She occasionally tests the barriers, but with one shock decides that it is not worth it. Our cats have remained unharmed by the system. Finding this system was a unique solution to a complicated situation. We have had the system in place 8 months and have had to relpace the batteries in the cat collar's once. And most importantly both husband and cats have made peace with one another. :) The system was not cheap, but it was worth it. We are very satisified and would continue to use this company and service. They even special ordered us some really cute collars, our girl has a pink camoflague collar and our boy a green checkered print."

"Down Home just Installed a cedar board-on-board fence. Their service and professionalism were exceptional. Sam (one of the owners) answered all questions and worked through each detail of what we wanted. Their two installers -- BJ and Grisham -- were extraordinary craftsmen, building the fence picket by picket with care and attention to detail. They were extremely polite and astonishingly quick -- the work was done in one day. They also hauled away the old fence and left the yard perfectly clean. The price was not the cheapest bid we received, but the value of what we got was worth every penny, and this fence and its workmanship will long outlast the other fences I have seen around (I have quite an eye for them now!) I highly recommend this well-established and friendly Irving, TX business."

"They did a great job and they were very helpful and accommodating with my request of special order regarding fence height. The only other comment I would make is there was no call from the sales rep regarding status of the special order or a follow-up call by the sales rep after the installation. I had to call her to get status even though she told me she would call me. The follow-up call after the installation wasn't not necessary since the installer did a great job, but it was expected."

"They specialize in Vinyl fences. The product is great. I am very happy with the product. Installation was excellent. He did a good job with installation. He was willing to work with me because I am having the fence built in phases, so he is good with that. Generally, he did a pretty good job."

"This was a major project.  We began the engineering process in February and finished the project in June.  The City required a permit.  Matt Stenson came up with the plans for how to extend our usable yard into the easement, fence it, and redesign the patio and backyard.  The work took 3 weeks and was interrupted by the torrential rains Texas experience in May and June of this year.  Matt and his team worked through and around the rain to keep on schedule.  Even though our home was 1 to 1.5 hours away from their homes, they were generally onsite by 1000 am and stayed up 8 or 9 pm most nights.  Matt has several crews, but it was apparent they worked well together.  They helped each other when additional manpower or help was needed.  The mortar crew were true artisans.  They designed retaining walls that were attractive and functional.  The outdoor kitchen they built was a masterpiece.  We are receiving rave reviews from neighbors, city inspectors, etc.  We just experienced Tropical Storm Bill which blew in from the Gulf of Mexico and brought more torrential rains.  The easement and drainage worked exactly as designed by Matt.  The city issued the permit and inspected during and after completion with complimentary remarks on the design and construction.  What could have been a tortuous process was relatively easy because of Matt's knowledge and skill.  The 8 foot cedar fence is another masterpiece.  It was built on a combination of retaining walls and existing ground.  Part of it had to be elevated and some of it had to be offset to accommodate existing drainage pipes.  The fence crew did a marvelous job under difficult weather circumstances.  If it was not raining, it was beastly hot.  Lastly, the landscraping crew had a heavy lift to work around all the other work going on, but they pulled it together. Irrigation works well and the sod they used looks great.  The whole project was mulched.  We had a number of maturing trees that needed to be relocated and Matt's experts made it look easy all the while taking precautions to make sure all of the trees and plants that were moved, lived...and they did!  All-in-all, a great project, well-designed and well-built.  Matt is easy to work with and responsive.  We asked for extra things to be done and Matt was more than pleased to accommodate them during the project.  We highly recommend Matt Stenson and crew! <br />"
