"I contacted RK Roofing after getting a bunch of quotes that were not bad (and one that was terrible--looking at you, Feldco). The owner Jerry promptly contacted me and was able to get the quote done very quickly. The quote was incredibly reasonable, especially for a company that had such a great Angie's List rating. When they came to do the work, the crew leader Greg was a really nice guy and did a great job of communicating any extra work that needed to be done. They also took care of some various things that were wrong, like a vent that went to nowhere, a broken fan, and added some more mushroom vents for not much extra (and there will always be extra in any roofing project). One other small thing that I appreciated was that, at the end of the work, they just left and sent me an invoice in the mail; there wasn't any pressure to give them a check right then and there. Given that roofing is usually a really expensive repair and you're often pulling together money from different sources, I just thought that was an extra nice touch. Highly recommend."

"Steve Case of SPU is probably the best home repair and roofing contractor I have ever dealt with in my 30 years of owning a home. Steve came out to my house the day I called him for an estimate. This was after a night of 50-80 mph winds had damaged my whole roof. Other contracters said it might take them a week to assess the damage to my roof. SPU's price to fix my entire roof was approved by my insurance company with no problems. Steve's crew showed up the next day and they completed the job before another bad rain storm moved into my area that night. I was impressed by the company's arriving on time with all the materials to start and finish the job. No time was lost because the crew had to wait on shingles or other supplies etc. Steve's men went up onto the roof and they kept working until the job was done. Before the crew left they cleaned up anything that was on the ground. I couldn't find one nail! I would also like to point out the roofing crew looked clean and professional. So did their vehicles. I believe this reflects the pride Steve's company takes in doing a professional job. I have had no problems with my roof since SPU replaced it. "We had several bids on our large roof and were prepared to go with another contractor, when our neighbor suggested using Professional Home Improvement Inc. as she was very satisfied with the roofing replacement they did for her.  We looked them up on Angies List and then called them for a bid. 
Mal had his foreman measure our roof, and then made an appointment to come out to see us with his bid.  Out of the 6 bids we had Mal was the only person to actually come out in person to see us and explain what his company had to offer and show us his insurance papers and GAF certification certificate.  The other companies only emailed or mailed bids with no follow up, even though the bids varied from $25,000 to $50,000 for a new roof.  Mal's bid was  was one of the two lower bids we had received.
When the permit was received, the crew came out.  A large, very, very professional crew that really knew what they were doing.
They are GAF Certified Installers and it showed!  The work was done quickly, neatly and excellently.  They took care to cause no damage to plants and the yard was spotless when they finished. Mal went over our problem areas with us and his foreman, and made sure they would never be a problem in the future, as this time they were done correctly.  We couldn't have been happier with the work they did and would highly recommend them to anyone thinking about replacing their roof."
