The new steps look beautifully done?better than I imagined. They paid attention to every detail and made sure the work was done right. "John and his team were awesome! We hired them to complete a full cleanup of shrubs and bushes, flowers, weeding, and mulching. We had just bought the house from someone who let the outdoors go, so getting a fresh start was well worth it. John was very kind and upfront and transparent with everything concerning pricing, services, and kept us in the loop during the whole cleanup process. Boyd was much more reasonably priced than competitors, but we believe that did not take away from the quality services that we received. Thank you!"

"The extra cost compared to some other quotes I received was well worth it. The service and communication from dale to final walk through wad above and beyond. We have used several contactors in the past for out multiple properties. But will only use Capital going forward. The most comfortable I have ever felt with a contractor. A true gem in the industry"

"I was extremely pleased with the work Elite Stoneworks did at my new house under construction. It was a large project: 6,000 square feet of pavers installed on the driveway, walkway, and patio. They were the lowest bidder on this job. Much more importantly, their work was superb, and the result is beautiful. Also important is that Andre, the owner of the company, visited the job site regularly and made suggestions for additions to the project for which he did not charge. The project manager for my builder was also on site every day and told me that he was very impressed with the quality of the all-important prep work (smoothing the surface, applying crushed stone and then stone dust, and compacting each layer) before the pavers were laid. I would recommend Elite Stoneworks without reservation."

"I can't say enough about Justin and his team. He added on a patio to an existing walkway, installed a firepit, and finished off a retaining wall. Justin is extremely professional, communicated very well throughout the entire project, and his prices are very reasonable. He did an excellent job matching the new paves to the existing pavers, which is not an easy job. I have already received so many compliments on my new patio and several neighbors asking me who did the work. I would highly recommend Northeast Hardscapes and Masonry!"

"It’s really beautiful. Carlos came out and assessed and we talked ; he measured and gave me a price from the start. He arranged to have me come to his current job site, so I could see the ideas that were being implemented and quality of work. Before starting, we altered and changed the design a little here and there and he always let me know if it would raise or lower costs. Carlos started when he said he would, finished when he said he would, works long consecutive days and is very well organized. He does all the work but smartly has a person or two in some days helping him mix cement, help with material movements and cleanup daily which was appreciated. The end result is a beautiful product with excellent ideas that he brought into the process. The scope of the work was 3 granite steps olus landing Of 41 inches and stone risers. Also a 28 foot approx walkway of brick pavers and a series of granite steps. Along the side cobblestone pavers For most of it. There was real attentions to construction detail in laying the stone and granite and hiding cement. That was important to me and it’s important Carlos. He RVN went and bought an extra piece of granite we hadn’t thought about needing but it was just sharper to do that. Carlos takes great pride in his work and even in the hard labor days he is happy to be creating. He had to cyst each piece of stone for the stair box and risers from huge chunky pieces and his price was fair, I had offers below but I didn’t have confidence in the masons work and I had offers that were above But to me seemed excessive. Carlos keeps his costs down by doing work himself and avoiding big equipment rentals when he can. I had faith in Carlos, and I think you can as well. Look at his portfolio and if u like something like it, or you have a picture you want him to use as guide- material, lay out etc, show him and hire him!"

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Rutland, MA

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
