"Last year Northland Fence installed a tan vinyl privacy fence for my 1 acre lot, replacing a rotted cedar fence that was falling down. I was really impressed by the post design as a means to anchor the fencing without future rotting issues, and it saved lots of installation time versus the older cement process. This was a huge fence, and they completed in two days of work, and the fence looks great! Fast forward one year later and strong winds this year have knocked over 6 x 30-foot trees from my neighbor's yard into my yard, damaging the fence in multiple places, bending posts and breaking side panels. Tim came by to perform the repair last week and the fence is completely restored to previous condition in about 2-3 hours of work. You could not tell that so much damage had occurred except for some cleaning that I need to do. While onsite, Tim also addressed some sag in installed fence doors with very well-built diagonal braces and adjusted the doors to being square. He was polite, professional, and delivered great results - represents the Northland Fence brand well. Strongly endorse the fence solutions from Northland. "I contacted many fence companies to replace a section of chain link fence and replace a single gate with a double gate. Responses included 1) they don't do chain link fence any longer, 2) the job was too small to bother with, or 3) they simply didn't return my phone call. However, North Star responded positively, and I could tell after talking with Jeff that customer service is a priority for them. The entire process went extremely well, and we are very pleased with the results. John, the owner, was out within days to prepare a proposal. "We hired them to custom build a fence in our backyard, to match our neighbor's fence in design and style. When digging the post holes, they managed to break a piece of our house siding off. Furthermore, many post holes were dug on our neighbor's property (despite surveyor's stakes) and had to be removed and reinstalled. Things didn't get better as the project progressed. First, despite assuring us they would be able to match our neighbor's fence, the fence they built was a foot shorter and the custom design was very poorly executed. After negotiations, we ended up with a nice fence as long as you don't know it is supposed to match the neighbors. The office staff were always very pleasant and professional. They paid for and coordinated repairing our siding. Overall though, we would not use this company again. <br /> <br />"

My only complaint is with the office staff who did not seem to communicate with the installers and were fairly terse in their communication with me. I was told to pay the installers who were surprised to hear that and would not take my check. When I contacted the office, they sent me a very abrupt invoice and letter demanding payment."

"The installation of the fence went just fine. They gave us a two hour window to be home for installation and arrived and completed the installation on time. Training was more difficult to schedule conveniently because they were so busy, but we completed the lessons during week 2. Jennifer was a great trainer with good rapport and a lot of patience and enthusiasm working with our dog. My only complaint was the installer only had black collars and we have a black dog which would make it very difficult to verify collar on and off. Jennifer brought a much better selection and we were able to get a nice sturdy, bright pink collar for Bailey. "Everything was great.  Only minor issue was that Barak is so gung-ho on his work that I had to hold him off while my rescreener was finishing some repairs. There were some minor hiccups in final details  and weather that made it take a couple of extra days, but Barak was flexible, as was I.  Overall, the end result was well work the price and the wait. <br />"
