"Initially provided options for remodeling our conversion of 2 small baths into 1.  Marble products are excellent  and cabinets are quality items.  Workers were very courteous and helpful, took pride in their work and always let us know when they were coming.  Overall a very positive experience. Kevin Reeves was helpful and easy to work with."

"An old cabinet door was supplied for color matching which came out perfect in the new cabinets. Two of the employees were on time and install the cabinets perfectly even with minor improvements which had not been specified. Following the installation they cleaned up perfectly and left everything  operational. A visitor from southern Florida was impressed to the point he requested your address and intends to contact you. <br />"

"Flooring in kitchen and dining room looks good except they cut around flooring strips on all 4 - 2 exterior & 2 interior doors. The areas around flooring strip's look unprofessional and unfinished. These areas are already coming up. I had to buy wider door strips to cover hacked up floor areas.  <br /> My biggest complaint is my new fridge lost it's grill at the bottom and no one bothered to replace it. Not the company or the contractors.  <br /> Yes,  the work there is sub- contracted. I do not like sub-contracted work because each party blames the other and problem is never solved. <br /> They group that  installed flooring were loud and unprofessional. I would not recommend flooring install. I am disappointed in the lack response from American Flooring, Cabinets & Granite. We called and the company was going to have sub-contractors to contact me for repair & replacement of fridge grill. <br />  I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM EITHER!  <br /> NO FOLLOW UP FROM American Flooring, Cabinets & Granite. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I had sears remodel my kitchen which included removing a wall to create a pass through / breakfast bar. New cabinets, refaced cabinets, new floor, new counter tops, back splash, lights, new sink and plumbing, island stove hood. From beginning to end the entire experience was great, they would listen to my concerns that would arise throughout the process and addressed them promptly. They went above and beyond when my stove hood was extremely difficult to mount do to its design, they had to do a lot of attic work that day. They were very professional. The physical work started on 9/10/13 and was complete by 10/19/13. It was a large job, and being done that quickly was great. I used Sears Home Improvement out of Pensacola."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Saint-elmo, AL

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
