"509 painting was quick to return my call. The estimate was fair and reasonable. The crew Jason, Lonan and Randy were right on time, courteous and very easy to work with. Their friendly and positive attitude made it a smooth and pleasant house painting experience. They took great care to cover outside plants and anything else that might collect drips of paint. The crew did a good job cleaning up every day. They even returned to paint the line covers after our mini split system was installed. The exterior of our home looks great, one the best looking houses on the block. I highly recommend 509 painting."

"Words can't express how happy we have been with our decision to go with Trickett Woodworks to build and install the cabinets in our custom kitchen. Geoff and Brian have been exceptional! Their communication before and during the project was always great. We had to delay the selection of our cabinet maker due to COVID, and Geoff was the only person that had regular check-ins with us during this time, none of the companies reached out to us at all. Trickett's workmanship is top notch. We asked for a very custom design that followed the contour of our cathedral ceiling which is not common. Geoff worked with us to come up with ideas on how best to accomplish the look we were going for and it turned out amazing. Geoff and Brian also went the extra mile when our countertop installers damaged several drawers and doors. Geoff made sure everything got fixed and that we were taken care of. I can't understate how happy we are with our cabinets and our experience with Trickett. We'll definitely be using them for future projects and highly recommend them to anyone."

"Initial site visit was great. Ideas provided by Tom for small detailed improvements were wonderful. Installation quality of veneer was ok at best. Many scratches, scrapes, etc. Trim on upper and lower cabinets was sloppy. Door hardware incomplete with missing screws and stripped screws so doors did not shut properly. Countertop install mediocre at best. Mismatched 2 pieces so grain pattern does not look right. Edge install very poor. Overall attention to detail (Finish carpentry) missing. <br />"

"John came to check on the skylight, which is an older version that has been discontinued. He ordered and came back with a part that might be substituted, but it didn't fit. Not willing to give up, he combed through a pile of old skylights and found a part that fixed the problem. Although he could have shrugged it off, he pursued it to a satisfactory conclusion. My gratitude goes to Dan for discovering the source of the leak, to Darius for contacting John, and to John for his determination to solve the problem. We've had some heavy rain and a winter's snow on the roof with no more leaking. <br /> Each of these men was professional as they indicated that my skylight leak was a problem to be solved satisfactorily. Due to this experience, I would not hesitate to call Alpine Construction in the future and have recommended them to friends. <br />"

".Ron came to the house right at the exact time he said he would to look the job over and give a bid.  He has a perfectly pleasant personality, and we could tell he quickly understood the problem and what the fix was.  His manner and intelligence instilled in us confidence in him right away <br /> After we accepted his bid, Ron e-mailed us a schedule of how his work would progress each day.  He and his associate arrived <br /> right on time, knew just exactly what to do, got busy, and ended up way ahead of schedule each day. They seemed very skilled and experienced and right on top of every part of the job.  The end result was beautiful and very good quality work.  We are very, very pleased."

"My remodel included every facet building a home would require from concrete work in the foundation where dirt floors once lay to the electrical and plumbing work needed for the additional three rooms I added to my home.  As far as how the entire job went?  Very smoothly, from start to finish.  Mr. Kloos went the extra mile for me on this job, he assisted me in acquiring the necessary permits to remodel at the beginning, and was there every step of the way from permits to picking carpeting to paints.  Another plus was he did not charge any mark-ups for any of our flooring, appliances, or special ordered tile.  We got his contractors price from day one with a smile to boot!  <br /> Since we occupied the home during the remodel, we were worried about having alot of strangers in and out of our home since sub-contractors would be hired as well by Mr. Kloos.  We were happily surprised with his selection of subs, their professional appearance, and most important, the professionalism they displayed while completing their jobs.  They were brought in like clockwork, at the perfect time, and we never noticed them as they worked.  I noticed Mr. Kloos had a great working relationship with each of his subs, and in talking with them I was told they have worked with Mr. Kloos several times in the past on jobs and find him to be honest and fair in their dealings with him.   Payment for services always on time was mentioned by each sub contractor I visited with during their work on my home. <br /> Another plus was Mr. Kloos was almost always on the job site.  Regardless if he had work to do at that moment or helping a sub with his job, he made a point to run his crews as a working contractor side by side with every worker who worked on our home.  I could always reach him regardless of the time, day or night to discuss anything I needed to share with him.  Last, his custom work in making my cabinets was terrific, he hand made from start to finish, raw wood to detailed stained cabinets at a fair price as well.  The tile work on our floors and counters was probably the best work I've ever seen done.  Mr. Kloos worked side by side with an employee of his laying the tile.  His talents far exceed any advertisements I've read or any recommendations I got when given his name as a possible contractor for my remodel.  How did it go?  Excellent from start to finish!!  I would recommend Mr. Kloos and his company, NillaWood Construction, for any job within his expertise.  He definitely spoiled myself and family while doing our remodel, I would recommend him 100% to all in need of his services!!  John, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Saint Maries, ID

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
