"Went over and beyond to try and locate any area that our dog Hoover could get out. He filled in area he might get out and also pushed the chain link fence gate was closed and tight so Hoover couldn't get out that way.
"

"I could not be happier with our fence! James Wolf came out to give me an estimate, and followed up with me. He was very knowledgeable about the differences in the fencing and what I should go with. He knew I was on a time restriction and worked with me as best as he could to get our fence installed in a timely manner. I refer Imperial fence to everyone I hear talking about getting a fence!"

"Bob at AAA did a great job with our electronic fencing. He took the time to educate us on the nuances of the subject, then installed the fencing right on time and on budget. Our dogs figured out the system very quickly, and we haven't actually had to use the electronic collars for a couple of years now. (The dogs still know what boundaries they are not supposed to cross). I would recommend AAA Radio fence to anyone."

"I contacted them through their website, and they (wife) got back to me that same day with questions about the project. We corresponded through email and phone calls regarding the project and what it entailed. They (husband & wife) offered me choices and pricing before they even came out to see the yard. I also got estimates from one other fencing company who came out and talked with me about all my options. (They were great, too.)
I went on vacation and told them when I'd be back. While we were on vacation, we decided on the type of fence and the company we wanted to work with. We chose to work with Houlihan because it's a family-run, small business with pricing similar to the bigger fencing company I talked to. They called me a couple days after I got back and were able to start the next day! (Our backyard utilities are all in the air, so they didn't have to wait on the utility marking company.) And their plan was to have it done in one day.
They sent 2-3 people in to do the job the first day - digging holes, setting poles in concrete, etc. The team left shortly after 2pm, left all their stuff (& a bit of a mess), plus their trailer in my driveway. The fence was not completed. But the owner came back by 5pm, cleaned everything up, and took the trailer. If I worked full-time, I wouldn't have known about the mess. The crew came back the next day, and the fence was finished that day. The owner came back to inspect everything and noticed a problem with the gate latch and a few minor things that we hadn't noticed. He had a plan to have it fixed the following business day, and it was done early in the day.
We love our new fence. It keeps our small dog safely inside our yard. The owner was great! While he over-promised on timing, he's friendly and very thorough. I am confident that the work was done thoughtfully at high standards. I would use him and his company again.
"

"When I researched fence systems for pets this was the only one that our Vet recommended. In years past I installed a fence system myself from a large box store and it never contained our dogs. I wanted professional service and professional equipment this time. Our dog, German Shepherd, has done extremely well. Her collar has been programmed to work at our daughters house so when we visit we can feel safe to let her out. While this is not the cheapest around it WORKS. Our dog is safe.

Update May 2015, the collar quit working, one call and new one was in the mail. The item was under warranty. We had to do a little programming over the phone but we were back in business. What great service."

"My wife and I are professionals residing in University City (I'm an attorney, she's a graphic designer). We bought an old home (built 1949) with no master bathroom, but with a vision to install a master bathroom where there was a large walk-in closet that had an existing window there. We bought the house with a construction loan to be able to pull it off. In our previous home, while we had updated a couple of bathrooms over the years and updated our kitchen, we had always used good handyman types, but never a renovation company. The difference between Striking Renovations and prior work we've had done is indeed striking. Night and day difference.
We spoke to several prospective contractors over the phone and met with 3 at the house. One was far more expensive, roughly estimating $60,000; one was a lot cheaper, estimating $30,000. One of the contractors actually seemed a bit worried to take it on. When we first met with John Yacovelli of Striking Renovations, what jumped out at us immediately was his enthusaism and "can do" attitude about the project. While not the cheapest quote, he was far less than the highest quote too.
Once we signed up with John, for the most part, the entire process was suprisingly very smooth and his partners and employees were extremely professional and courteous in our house.
At the beginning, John took us on a shopping trip with him to pick out the tile, fixtures, etc. for the bathroom. We went to approximately 4 different places with him, spending a little more than half the day, etc. John gave a lot of good advice and it was a relatively painless process.
Soon thereafter, the demolition of the walk-in closet began. It took I think a week or less to fully demolish and begin framing out the new bathroom.
One of the main people to work on our project was Billy. We were very comfortable having him (and the others) in our house; he was extremely polite and pleasant to be around and clearly is very good at his craft. Frankly, all of them were. We were a bit worried early on about strangers being in and out of our house each day, the disruption, mess, etc. However, they cleaned up at the end of each day, never overstayed their welcome, worked around our schedule when we could not have them there, and other than the normal construction noises, we'd barely know they were around. We thought it was a very high level of professionalism.
The entire project took about 8 weeks, which was the estimated timeframe given. It likely would have been completed earlier but for the delay on the arrival of some of the fixtures we picked out. However, John built that into his estimated timeframe and finished roughly when he said they would finish.
The couple of times that we expressed a concern or observed something not being to our liking, Striking Renovations took care of it without hesitation and without hassle (never once did I have to plead or negotiate for them to make something right -- although, to be truthful, there were very few issues that we had to raise anyway). The customer service and desire to satisfy us was very good throughout.
In the end, we have a truly stunning (and "Striking") beautfiul brand new bathroom, a large master closet along most of one of the walls in our bedroom, and a new hallway/linen closet that is still much larger than the average linen closet.
As an aside, one of the great benefits Striking Renovations provides is various side projects that you may request while the main project is going on. They were very fair and affordable on a few side projects for us. That included installing a new gas line for a new gas range (and installing and setting up the range itself), moving a light fixture and cutting in a vent connected to our HVAC system so that heating and cooling would reach an enclosed porch that is used as a guest room and office. They did a great job on all of those side items and we found the charges to be very fair given the quality of work they do. I never felt overcharged on any of those side projects, but I have many times felt overcharged by less skilled handymen in the past.
We recommend Striking Renovations without reservation. I would tell anyone who is doing a meaningful renovation of any kind to call John Yacovelli and talk to him (and meet him) about it.
"

"Great service and I'm thankful to have the old handrails replaced. Though more expensive than I initially thought I'd be paying, I think it was well worth the money and the handrail should last a long time. It's been almost a year since the install and I've had no issues.
"

"It was good. It took a little bit longer than we expected to because he thought that we could strip all the paint off our deck and put a stain on. It ended up not being able to do the stain because he was having a trouble to take the paint off so we ended up going with a colored stain and so he was able to do that. It seems like it took a long time but he was really determined to get it right. He really put all his time on it and wanted to get through it well. He was really pleasant to deal with too. He'll work on it until he gets it right. He wants you to be satisfied with his work. He is a perfectionist I think. If we had known that it was going to be so much trouble getting all that paint off, we would have just gone and painted over it and I think it wouldn't have been as expensive from the get-go. I don't think he ever had this much trouble getting something off of the deck as he did ours. He does mostly seared decks. I don't think that staining other types of woods is his specialty. He is a nice guy."
