"The work went great and we are so happy with the results! I liked the fact that we could go to Home Depot and pick out our own sink and hardware. We also picked out our own handles and bought them from Home Depot and they put them on our new cabinet doors. I love the new kitchen! It is so bright compared with the old oak that was in there. They even put a crown molding on the top of the cabinets, which looks so much better than the old "gingerbread" railing that was on top of the oak cabinets. I would recommend refacing to anyone wanting to save money. I'm sure this cost half of what it would to tear out and replace the cabinets. The people in this company were very nice and polite. The salesman who came out initially with all the samples was very helpful. He steered me away from picking a "wood" pattern that would have clashed with the other wood in the kitchen. He brought tons of samples to choose from and let me take my time. He also left the samples of the patterns I picked so I could go to the flooring store and help choose a flooring pattern. Everything matches and blends in perfectly. I could not be happier and the fact that the workers were so nice made this project go very smoothly. I would highly recommend them to anyone."

"The Cabinet Solutions Team refaced my kitchen cabinets on time and completed the work in the estimated time.  The results are incredible and the cost was much less than the box store estimates!!!  They were careful to protect the appliances and counter tops.  They cleaned up every night and answered every question we asked.  I would recommend Cabinet Solutions to anyone!! <br />"

"Ryan was very professional and was able to get the job done quickly. When I called to inquire about the process, I had many questions and he gladly answered them, explaining what to expect and his thoughts about whether to keep or replace the tub. He never tried to push me to have the reglazing done; in fact, he encouraged me to consider getting a new tub if mine was not in great shape but was happy to offer his services if I decided to move forward (which I did). He was able to schedule the procedure within a week of my call. I live in Columbia and, even though most of his business is in St. Louis, he still covers the Columbia area as well. He uses a process that involves acid-treating the surface to remove the external gloss/coat, making the surface ready to accept the paint (similar to sanding a wood surface). He then tapes off every surface that may potentially get sprayed and, using special equipment, sprays on the primer, paint, and protective coats onto the surface, eliminating the possibility of visible brush strokes. The whole process took 3-4 hours and he said the tub would be usable after 48 hours. The end result was fantastic; shiny and white, like a brand new tub! He also added (with my permission) a thin layer of sand on the floor of the tub before putting on the paint layer in order to add an anti slip surface. The price was very reasonable ($450 which included a new overflow plate and tub drain) and it was nice not having to tear out and replace the tub during my bathroom remodel. The tub was structurally in decent shape and had lasted over 40 years with minimal damage, just normal wear and tear. I hope to get many more years out of this tub. I highly recommend Ryan for your tub refinishing needs!"

"Overall the project went very well.  John Y is the 'front man' and sets up the design and helps with product choices.  I worked with an independent designer as well, so for the most part they worked well together.  The real gem is the crew and the two other managing partners, Bill and Brad, who work with and oversee the crew. If there were any issues, Bill made sure they were corrected.  We did experience some miscommunication, so it's a good idea to hang onto emails and any written correspondence and double check sizes/plans prior to ordering items.  However, the workmanship was excellent. And the project would have been finished a week early, had we not encountered an issue with an order. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Project was extensive.  Bathroom - rerouted plumbing; new plumbing and electric; new subfloor & drywall; tiled shower/tub area; new tub/shower; new ceiling; lighting; sink/toilet; moved doorway to make new access and install pocket door.  <br /> <br /> Kitchen - new drywall; subfloor; plumbing; electric; cabinets; countertops; sink & fridge; removed window and installed larger window with window seat/cabinets; backsplash; lighting. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Tile work was especially good."

"Mr. Christopher & group did our kitchen 9 yrs ago/2010. They did a great job. Totally custom! They helped to design/offer suggestions and then they took out other cabinets and put theirs in. There were some issues..ie. soffit was offset, small trim was missing, you have to keep an eye on everything... basically I was the general contractor.. hiring in the electrician, floor guy, tile, windows and electric, etc... But all went well in the end.. and nine yrs later we still love it and it all looks good, held up and works well... SO with that experience we decided to have him to our bathroom vanity... I knew it would be tricky.. but we liked their work and could get the exact odd size we needed for our south city home... It took forever to get the cabinet (4-6wks).. .I guess b/c it was a small job for them they kept putting it off... then they put the wrong glass in the doors.. and had to come bk after to get it... The cabinet itself is perfect size! Very cute and works well... BUT the prob is that the white paint the put on... well I dont' think they prep'd the wood first... b/c it just all started popping and cracking off!!!! Doors, sides, etc.. When I talked to Mr.Christopher he said he would redo it.. prob is that it was already installed.. the onlyl thing I could take out was 1 drawer and 2 doors... They redid them and they are holding up better.. but the rest is still peeling.. He said that 'they tell people if they use it in the bathroom it can't get wet or will do this..." Uh no... no one said anything to me about it.. AND IF this is the case then why not do something different in your process OR inform us about what to do or not to do.. ie.. don't get the cabinet w/ paint.. choose a stain... etc.. So that is my story... They have good stuff to the right size... but keep an eye on them... expect to wait awhile for your stuff to be done... and don't use them for bathroom cabinets... If you need something that stays dry and is free standing ... I'm sure it would be fine :)"

"In a word Fantastic!  They told us that they could do all of this work in 1 day, and I did not believe it was possible.  They arrived the morning of the installation just after 9:00 am and in about one hour the old was already out!  When they left about 6:15 pm the new cabinets and granite counter tops were installed!!  They crew of 3 very hard working men did a beautiful job and are excellent craftsmen.  One thing to note is that's all that they do...we had to remove all of the appliances, dishwasher and disconnect the plumbing and faucets, and of course remove all the the dishes & normal kitchen stuff. From our first visit to the showroom, the design, and to finished installation, they have been very professional and great to deal with.  Tiara in the showroom listened to us and let us pick out the granite and cabinets that we liked, but then offered a suggestion with different ones based on what we told her.  What she picked out was perfect for our kitchen and is so much more beautiful than we ever imagined...she has great taste.  Ardra then came to our house to measure and put the design together.  We had new flooring installed recently so we had to stay with the same footprint of space, but she gave us some great ideas on adding cabinets and changing the look and function.  Again, we went with her suggestions and are very happy with the result!  As with any remodeling project, things don't always to easy or perfect as planned, and the small issues that came up on our project were handled extremely professionally and they were always willing to make things right for us.  We would highly recommend this organization! <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Sainte Genevieve, MO

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
