Quote was quite a bit higher than I expected, but I learned from neighbors that chain link fence costs for small jobs are quite high (based on their experience with quotes for small chain link fence jobs). Very professional, high quality work. They were able to fit me in pretty quickly (just a couple weeks compared to 6-12 weeks with other companies). Highly recommend."

"Time consuming but worth it. They understood Ann Arbor's local ordinances better than any other bidder, and were the most competitive bidder (if not by much, but they still were the lowest bidder). They made multiple trips to ensure the estimate was accurate and took pains to find a fencing solution that would comply with Ann Arbor's convoluted rules, yet be both functional and aesthetic. Multiple install trips as well, to deal with tree removal issues and weather problems. Final installed fence is beautiful. We likely will follow up because the locks installed on the two gates installed are proving difficult to manage, but I fully expect this issue to be resolved satisfactorily. (We have not yet contacted them about this, so it's not their fault that this issue remains unresolved - it's been a complicated year for us and, having worked with them, we trust in their ability to resolve this concern later. If we are wrong about this, we'll follow up on our review.) We found Upright Fence through Angie's List, and it was a good recommendation. We would do it all again exactly as it happened if given the option. We are so relieved to have the old, collapsing wooden fence removed and a new, vinyl fence - properly installed along the lot boundaries. Our thanks to the Upright team...we can understand why they've been in business so long. Experience does indeed count for something."

"I was told that they are in Southwest Detroit and that I should look for someone in my own area (I'm 20-25 miles from there). It seems this is the way it goes with Angie's List. All the contractors are too busy or have very small service areas. I will probably go back to using other ways to find contractors, so I can find someone who is available to do the work."

"I'm super happy with our deck! I'm not sure if we got just lucky to have Chad (one of the crew staff who actually built decks) work on our deck, but the quality and craftsmanship he and his team put in is so precise, beyond our expectation - we are really impressed. I think his standards and "common sense" are so high that we did not have to tell him anything while the deck was being built. He did not waste even a second when he was working on our deck, no chat with his coworker, no chat on the phone, nothing - just work, work, work - focused on the deck all day. It was a pleasant surprise since we are very picky about quality, especially after we have gone through a terrible home builder of our home's for bunch of quality issues. Also truly appreciate Robert, who provided us great design proposals and were very very patient with our questions and modification requests. Jamie (owner) is an easy-going nice guy and did everything we asked for. He's pretty responsive whenever I needed to contact him. One more thing - I love the way their quotes are. They break down all items in the quote so it was so easy to know what was included and what was not and super clear about a price for each item. I have received quotes from other deck builders too but they did not show us break-down prices. Most of them even hesitated to answer to my questions about the price when I asked them. I think Cedar Works is very honest with customers. They did not hide anything from us in the quotes.I will recommend Cedar Works to anyone. All my neighbors said our deck was looking sooo nice:-)"

"Novi fence came out and found the yard markers right away (where other fence companies couldn't locate) They supplied me with a quote and gave me an estimated time to start the fence. They contacted me about 1-2 weeks early to see if we were ready for our fence to be started. I eagerly said yes. They set posts on a Thursday and came back on Monday to finish the install. The even went above and beyond by repairing a chain link area that one of my dogs manages to squeeze through. <br /> Everyone was very nice, from the initial quote to the men that came out to install the fence. I would highly recommend them. <br />"

"NorthWest did a top-notch job on providing on communication, working up an estimate, coordinating the work, and following up with us once the job was done. We had three different roofing contractors come out to look at the problem, but Terry was the only one who actually got up on the roof, looked into the chimney, took pictures to help explain the necessary repairs, and didn't just say "tear the roof off and start again." We have had no problem with leaking in the 6 months since they did the repairs."
