"Called F&W Fence to provide bid for installing chain link fencing.  Came within a week of contact to do that (he mentioned that work was 6 weeks out).  The fence was installed within 3 weeks (small enough job they could fit me in).  Price was fair and the work was excellent.  I would definitely use F&W Fence again. <br />"

"It went well. The two men doing the work were polite. They removed the old fence, including the posts and associated cement (part of the bid process). The post holes were dug and the posts installed in one day. The fencing went up two days later, and it was done quickly. The fence looks very nice; the boards have knots, but it appears they are all tight. I was very happy with the speed and quality of work. There were no gates in the portion I agreed to pay for, so the cost represents the TOTAL cost of the fence between the houses without any gates."

"We contacted Outdoor Oasis after my mother’s farm fencing was damaged in multiple areas by falling trees and branches in the ice storm. Alejandro and his team did an excellent job starting with the detailed estimate, to sturdy replacement of damaged fence sections and gate, to thorough removal of tree logs and debris and neat cleanup. Alejandro was always professional, helpful, and easy to work with."

"We used RAM Mobile Welding for a small project a couple of summers ago. It was a small project but it was important to us and kind of tricky. We had a large, irregularly cut hole in our sport court that needed a sturdy, secure and visually attractive cover. We were very happy with Rick's work and with the care he took to get things right."

"Bottom line was the process and experience was good; bid price was horrible. Lamont Bros, who I've worked with before a couple years ago, were again prompt and professional. I know they do impeccable work which is why I contacted them. Both Daniel and Joseph were personable, professional and informative. They spent appropriate time surveying the chimney and attic, taking measurements, and explaining options and process. It was enjoyable. They asked what I wanted to budget [as low as possible! :)] and I said $20-25k knowing it was very low but with a budget in my head of about $35K to $40k. They said 20-25k wasn't really reasonable and said just a bathroom generally runs about 20K (which I've also heard from numerous contractors and friends who have had the work done) and that what we were talking about would probably be around 40K, depending on finishes. So I was expecting something in that ballpark. Instead, the bid was $90k to $115k. More than twice what was discussed and what I had budgeted in my head. I am friends with architects and engineers. my family knows contractors. I work for the City of Portland and discuss remodels, new houses, and other construction projects all day long. Some of our good friends just had a top tier contractor do a large remodel that included removing the wall between dining room and kitchen in a classic foursquare house, installing new support beams, putting in new high end hardwood floors on first floor (1000sf), remodeling and reconfiguring first floor bathroom in order to install a new exterior door from kitchen to back of house and building a second story deck that door opened out onto that deck - all for approximately $50k. All this to say the bid was extremely high. I get that our housing market is crazy and the cost of construction is expensive and increasing. Contractors have their choice of jobs and as such can price accordingly. And sure, there is an opportunity cost to taking on a specific job over others. But a bid of $90k-$115K seems like price gouging and taking extreme advantage of the current construction climate. I can only take it as a way of saying they'd rather do other, larger jobs for wealthy clients who don't have concerns about costs."

"I initially hired Eric's Quality Building to replace my fence that was falling down. When I discovered that they also did siding, I asked for a quote to replace the rotting and cracked siding on my manufactured home. Eric gave me a more than fair deal on the entire project. For slightly more than what larger companies quoted to replace the siding only on the house (with vinyl), I ended up with a new cedar fence, all new fiber/cement siding (with fresh paint) on both the house and garage, all new windows on the house, all new gutters, new skirting, and new front door. Eric and his crew were friendly and respectful. They worked hard and did a fantastic job. Eric kept me up-to-date on what was happening when, if they ran into any snags or surprises, and made sound recommendations. He rearranged his schedule to accommodate my last minute request to add new windows. This was my first foray into the world of home improvement and I've heard/read horror stories of sleazy, underhanded contractors, so I was wary when I started this project. My experience was just the opposite. Eric is refreshingly honest and ethical. He takes pride in the quality of his company's work, and cares about the client's happiness with the finished product. The new fence is beautiful; the house looks fresh and welcoming. I would absolutely recommend Eric's Quality Building for whatever home improvement project you may have."
