"I needed new cabinets in my primary bath. Xinja was so helpful in the design process. They used their program to design the new look so we saw what they would look like in the space beforehand They turned out beautiful and are so functional now, I love how they turned out. I highly recommend Xinja!"

"We were able to get an appointment right awway. The guy was a little late, but called to let us know. Overall, we're very happy. Our tub was in bad shape from a previous job several years ago, with lots of chipped enamel. The tub doctor was able to get all of that stripped off and pour a smooth coat of enamel. There are a few very small rough spots, but the job was guaranteed for 7 years, so we will see if we need to bring him back. The tub looks 100 times better than it did before. The price was exactly the same as the quote, and it was about $100 less than most other quotes I got. We would recommend this provider, and we'd use them again ourselves. <br />"

"I was very specific at the start of this project with what I wanted and had several pages of ideas and photos in mind to give Dan for him to bid with. All of my ideas were discussed prior to the project and Dan was able to accommodate everything I wanted. I can say with 100% certainty that the kitchen I got turned out better than what I hoped for. Dan's finish work was exceptional, and many pieces were cut to fit on site and painted like cabinet trim, baseboards, and side paneling to fit perfectly in place. Dan has been the best communicating contractor I have ever hired, and he was very punctual. I would highly recommend Dan to anyone who is looking for new cabinets or anyone who has a unique ceiling or kitchen layout and wants something custom. Above and Beyond - Mid way thru the project I asked Dan to paint base board molding to match my cabinets two-toned color and install them, which he was happily able to complete for me."

"This is my third review regarding job performed. I will say what I did in the two previous reviews. The work exceeded my expectations; best work I have ever seen. I had my old cabinet doors replaced and Nomad Design delivered in every possible way: excellent work, on time delivery, one of the most talented and gracious people doing the work. And everything was on time, price very reasonable, and the work was beautiful. <br />"

"On the design side they are very good - easy to work with and very experienced. Lots of options! <br /> As far as scheduling, they are very professional. They come when they say they will and will be done when they say they will. <br /> We had a few issues, some of which were not noticed right away, and they were very responsive, well after the job was finished. <br /> My only beef is that they are pricey - I am aware that custom cabinetry is expensive, but they are WAY pricey. I think you could do as good with another company for less money, though you might have to manage the process, be more proactive, and stay on top of them. If you want a guaranteed great final product, and money is not a big issue, go with these guys. If money is an issue, there are many alternatives, although an amazing end product may not be guaranteed, <br /> I do love our cabinets - The mechanics are perfect and the finishes are amazing. They will last forever. <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Salt Lake City, UT

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
