"They started each day at 8:00 AM and worked until 5:00 or later. They were very polite and professional. The lead person George would explain what they would be doing each day and then perform the tasks. The deck looks like it is brand new and the redwood has the original color and grain. Note: the bill included 4 hours of setting the deck screws so they could sand. Otherwise they performed to the bid."

"The owner initially came to my home to assess the work I needed to have done. He is very knowledgeable about landscaping. The time he spent upfront was greatly appreciated as he fully understood to my landscaping needs. He had great ideas on how to replant a tree, recommend how to control grubs and how to properly care for specific plants. Once the project began the owner was no longer involved. In fact, I never saw him again. In addition to his landscaping services I had him give me a bid for painting my new fence and yard fence. The painting itself was very nicely done however, the worker(s) were careless and left several oil based paint spots damaging 15-20 of my brand new pavers. When I addressed this with The Owner he replied via email his worker(s) told him they didn’t do it. I provided pictures of the pavers as proof to substantiate my claim. The Owner had his lead come by our home to fix a sprinkler head that was covered during sod repair and to remove these stains. When I reached out to The Owner again he solely relied upon his lead who promptly told him the oil based paint stains were removed. The stains still remain, I’ve contacted my pavers company who clearly stated “oil based paint cannot be removed!” It became blatantly obvious the owner was siding with employee. In fact, The Owner not once has stepped foot on my property since he took the bid. He never came to oversee the project and all contact with him has been via email or text. Lastly, we were in agreement to plant a new tree. As of this review, I have never heard back and there was never any follow up as to when this would be done. I really had high hopes In the beginning and I am very disappointed in The Owner’s project management. He appears to be knowledgeable but my recommendation is that he needs to manage his team, stay closer to the project and make an attempt to do a final walk through. Lastly his hourly bill rate was inconsistent vs. negotiated. Hourly rate doubled for final day of painting which I regretfully paid."

"We had dry-rotten entrance stair which was falling apart.  We contracted Roy through HomeAdvisors for Entrance stair dry rot removal, repair & window header replacement. He showed up on time and provided a detailed estimate of the scope of work. Upon appointment,  work was started & finished as per schedule and the site was kept in pristine condition. Roy is very experienced and skilled and provided valuable inputs when required. I'm planning on doing more upgrades to my house and will be contacting Roy for future work as well."

After knowing that I do not want a perfect fix, he brought a crew member who actually does deck work to discuss with me about how to repair so that the plan can meet my need and the company reliability. Ben is very responsive and responsible. He even talked with his boss to use left over lumber in order to save money for me. The quote he gave me is very fair considering Golden State is an legitimate company with license and insurance. I feel bad that we ended up not using Golden State. My husband wants a worse but cheaper repair."

We talked to several general contractors and went with Astoria Construction because of their experience, excellent work (we visited past projects in our neighborhood), and Petr’s wonderful customer service. At the start of the project, Petr assessed the situation and provided multiple options and price points for repairing or replacing our leaky siding and restoring our water damaged rooms. Once the project kicked off, the Astoria team showed up daily and worked quickly to minimize disruption. As we discovered challenges (literally under the siding), Petr was great in communicating what they found and our options. Petr was so good is letting us know when weather would impact progress and how he was prioritizing us and his other clients. We never had to chase him down and he was always responsive to our calls and texts. The final product was better than we could have hoped and in a price range we could afford. We’re so grateful for Astoria Constructions craft and care in making our home whole again. Without a doubt, I’d hire Astoria Construction again."
