"<p>Unique Concrete is an excellent company.  We were referred to Ignacio one of the owners by our designer.  My husband pushed me to go with a cheaper contractor.  What a mess, the owner never showed up, the work was not done correctly and the footings for the travertine patio were poured with cement from a wheelbarrow. I felt like I needed to be outside overseeing the job constantly.  One evening while traveling I got a call that the contractor had by accident broken our gas line - he said he had capped it off.  But, due to my inability to trust him I called a plumber to go out immediately.  I questioned why he told me this at 7pm?</p> <p> I was not only uncomfortable with the work but not happy with the type of individuals the contractor was sending to our home.  </p> <p>I spoke with the designer and put a stop on the job, the same day - embarrassed I called Ignacio from Unique Concrete Creations - told him how unhappy I was and he came over within an hour. The job was on a hillside with lots of retaining walls. Ignacio recommended that I call calstone who was provider of the allen block wall to come out and see what they thought about the installation, this was the support for me to know it was time to remove the original contractor, the walls were being installed and had been installed incorrectly.  Calstone and Ignacio worked together to set up a plan to repair the work.  Ignacio took control and helped every step of the way, he let me know if we needed more product or if we would need to change something which would add cost each time allowing me to approve all cost increases.  In terms of setting up the travertine patio he took out the poor foundation and brought in a truck to poor foundation all around the patio with deeper footings at the hillside.  Everything was done so expert, all the individuals who work for Unique Concrete are professional, many of them family members.  </p> <p>Ignacio took care of approvals for the gas line and my meter upgrade due to and upgrade in gas lines for our outdoor BQ and ultimate fireplace.  He also measured all my spaces and MDA to make sure we met the city's requirements and set up those appointments and made sure everything worked according to permits.  I would highly recommend Unique Concrete Creations.  I will never consider another company regarding my backyard work they are excellent and do long lasting work.  </p> Going with a cheaper contractor in the beginning is sunk cost and a waste of time and effort, dealing with that contractor and having to get rid of him took years off my life, life is too short.  Hire contractors who know what they are doing you cannot go wrong hiring Unique Concrete Creations.  I cannot wait to be finished and have the whole group over for a BQ they all feel like part of our family. <br />"

"Alan gets our highest rating for diagnostics, problem solving, and professionalism.  His work was methodical, the end result was excellent, and we very much appreciated his considerable efforts to keep the costs down.  We will absolutely use his services again and highly recommend him and his team. <br /> We had two projects and Alan completed both of them.  Our upstairs bathroom had a soft floor near the shower which turned out to be due to water damage.  However, the source of the water was not clear.  One contractor suggested we demo the entire bathroom and remodel it for $35k-$50k.  Another suggested that he could spray something to slow the dry rot.  Only Alan suggested starting by identifying the source of the leak.  After eliminating several possibilities, I made a couple of suggestions which Alan rejected as "too expensive".  Finally, he opened the outside wall to expose the plumbing and there found the source of the leak.  He made the repair and when the wall was closed up,  the stucco repair was flawless.  <br /> Our downstairs exterior door from the laundry room gets heavy weather during storms.  Over the years water had come in and the floor was damaged with dry rot.  The original contractor made several attempts to make the door water tight but was unable to do so.  A specialist in weather stripping declined the job as impossible.   I suggested to Alan that we might need a new door but he rejected that option as "too expensive".  With a new threshold, and by making the door close more tightly, he solved the problem at minimum cost. <br /> Alan and his workers were very responsive, prompt, and professional.   Highest marks. <br />"

"Michael Crum Concrete was recommended to me by a co-worker who indicated he provided excellent work at a fair and competitive price. I Contacted Mike and he came out to my property to see the job site and discuss what I wanted (a large circular pad to accommodate a heavy water storage tank.. He provided his thoughts on the project and then an estimate to get the job done. Based upon my friends review and what I saw in other reviews, I accepted Mike's estimate and hired him to do the job. He gave me a date and time that the 2-day job would begin. He arrived on-time as did his workers. Mike did some necessary tractor work clearing and leveling the area, his crew set about making forms and creating rebar framework. The following day Mike and his team arrived promptly and began the pour and then finishing work. I couldn't be happier with the results and the experience of working with Mike and his crew was enjoyable. Very nice, honest and hard working people. The job site was thoroughly cleaned up before his departure. I highly recommend Michael Crum Concrete."

"Our house had significant water damage from the heavy rain season so we called a few contractors for assessment and estimates. Dan spent nearly two hours with us, patiently and thoroughly answering all of our questions, providing direct and honest advice, and ultimately helping us decide on our best course of action. He and his experienced team of subcontractors replaced all of our windows and sliding doors, replaced our wood siding with new stucco (including new building paper and plywood sheathing), installed new insulation and drywall, and handled all of the interior painting. Dan was readily available via text or call and was much more than just a project manager. He was extremely hands-on often at the house working side by side with his subcontractors, especially carpentry work for window framing. We are pleased with the end result and highly recommend Morgan Construction to anyone looking for high quality work and a trusted advisor."

"SOD Home Group is seriously the best group of people to work with! They turned around my complete house - kitchens, bathrooms, floors, patio, backyard and studio were all renovated. It was a complete overhaul and a tremendous job. Everything was so well done, but in particular I need to give a shout out to the work they did converting the garage into an open plan studio unit I can now Airbnb. That work is truly beautiful and has been noticed by guests and realtors for its quality! To give you some context–before SOD Home Group redid my house, it was an old house that had been shown little love over the years. The original bathrooms were in such a sad state–the showers leaked into the basement whenever the water ran. There was little to no natural light in the house at all. Eden from SOD Home Group helped me to redesign the entire house to modernize it into a beautiful home! Oren oversaw the entire project for 18 months so really so much credit for this job goes to him (see further down for even more of my recommendation!) We started with the bathrooms, which was a complete overhaul of the tiling, toilet, shower, vanity, etc. For the shower, they tarred and sealed the base of the shower completely–which has turned out beautifully. Then we did the kitchen which again was a complete overhaul job. Cabinets, countertop, appliances, cutting a hole in the wall to accommodate the new countertop island… it was all handled so well! Then we did floors… for the entire house! These floors are gorgeous–they’re treated reclaimed barn wood with beautiful texture and grain. I recommend asking for them to be double waxed (just my preference) because I like to make sure they’re very smooth, but some people prefer the rougher texture under foot. All the walls inside and outside the house were completely painted. We worked hard to figure out the color scheme. Oren has a great sense of color–he was such a great help in this process!!! I went with a simple gray and white for the exterior paint, which let the natural red brick and wood of the craftsman shine through! I’m so happy with the results–it makes the house look brand new!!! Then the Pearl team moved on to the garage/studio conversion. This was such an epic job I can’t even describe!!! As we began digging, we found that the old garage unit was missing a foundation! Because of city regulations, we couldn’t move any of the existing walls in the remodel, so Oren and his amazing team actually dug under the existing structure and installed a cement foundation!!! This was an epic undertaking and we followed the city codes very closely. Everything was done to code and done amazingly well! The results really speak for themselves, so look at the photos–I now have a 400 sq ft open plan self-contained studio I can rent or AirBnB for additional income! And finally, the team moved on to the backyard and patio! This involved knocking down existing brick wall and digging up 6ft deep concrete installed by the previous owner, which was a complete eyesore to the property! My backyard isn’t big enough to accommodate a bobcat, so the team spent weeks digging up this concrete slab with jackhammers and shovels! What was installed in its place is a beautiful firepit, garden wall, and a new cedar wood fence. They also installed pavers as footpath and new garden boxes for growing herbs. Oren also brought in a team to install a patio cover, which now provides beautiful shade for parties during the day! SOD Home Group did such a great job throughout the whole house, were so professional, and really went out of their way to make sure everything was the best. I had my home revalued shortly after the renovation and it skyrocketed in value because of the work from SOD Home Group. Finally, if you get the chance to be so lucky, ask to work with Oren. You’ll be thankful you did! I’ve worked with him for the past 18 months and I can say without a doubt he put his heart into the project and went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the results. He has impeccable taste, attention to detail, and a big heart for his clients - all winning combinations for a stellar project manager! He has a wonderful network of people who can get him the best deals on materials - he’s loved and trusted by his team!
