"Purchased two hour Handyman coupon for $149.00. Mike Bible came on time and ready to work. Took about 20 minutes to install the ceiling fan. We put on the blades and light and saved Mike a little time. Mike was very meticulous in his measurements on the Doggie door. He had it all together in 40 minutes. Very well done. Pleasant, professional and competent service. That is what I received from TD Services. Use them again? Absolutely!"

"1) SOS electric arrived 1 hr after my call and identified quickly the small fire at the back of the motor as the cause of dead filtration system of my inground swimming pool. Fire was caused by inproper contacts between the switch and the motor. SOS Electric replaced partially burned contact into proper one and soon filtration system was up and running. 2) Light over garage door didn’t have motion sensor. SOS Electric went to Home Depot and got the new light with motion sensor. Soon it was installed properly, adjusted to optimal sensitivity and works perfectly."

"George seems to be a nice guy. I'm sorry that my review is poor. But here's my experience...
George is very difficult to reach, and it can take several days to get a response to any messages. I am also difficult to reach, so I made sure to say, when I left messages, "I am available on these specific days, just let me know if any of them work for you." It never helped. It literally took a month to get a time set up with him, and to his credit, we had set one initial date and I had to cancel the appointment the day prior due to an emergency flight related to a death in the family. It then took another 2.5 weeks to get a new appointment set up.
When I initially wrote to him after buying the coupon (2 hours of electrical labor for $99), I disclosed the fact that I had bought the coupon in order to get (3) Nest smoke and carbon alarms installed. He saw that on my response, in writing, and knew that coming out here. Here's what happened when he got here:
First, I had a faulty switch in a room with a fan and attached light. The light was stuck in a very dim "on" position and I could not get it to turn off. George fiddled with it for a couple of minutes, and then we turned off the breaker to see if it would trigger it to go off. That didn't work. George fiddled a couple more minutes, and got the light to come on very brightly. He then announced that the switch is broken (not that I did not already know that) and not able to be fixed. In the meantime, the light is now stuck in bright mode and who needs a tanning salon when you can just walk into the bedroom? Onward.
Next, the Nest alarms. First, he opens one of the new packages, tearing the packaging. Only important if you need to return them because they can't be installed. Next, he looks at them like a cat would examine a Rubix cube, and notices that they "are 120v and need to be hard-wired". Yes, that's why I disclosed it up-front when I bought the coupon. He then walks up into my attic, which was floored by an electrician who left plenty of openings for later wiring. George then descends, and announces the following:
"First of all, these things need to be hard wired. Your attic is floored, so it's impossible. And second, it's going to take at least two men and three hours, so it's going to be very expensive." With that, I let him know that "we're done" and he left. It was a total of 15 minutes. I waited for more than two months for THAT. I'm asking for a refund, and giving up on Angie's Coupons."

"Jonathan “Jon” Wehr worked for me as a Contractor and served in the role of Project Supervisor in the restoration and renovation of both 112 & 113 Main St. Smithville, Texas. The 113 project lasted five months and the 112 project last a month. Jon performed his daily tasks professionally, admirably and at a fair cost. During the project he elevated himself from Carpenter to Supervisor of the project. He immediately became immersed in the restoration of the 113 project from day one; not only as a carpenter, but using his deep skill set he was / is able to perform a variety of construction functions and led the crews to meet the project objectives. 112 Main St. was a renovation and face lift to bring in a now successful Bakery. 113 is now a successful dance studio.
Some, but not all, of Jon’s skill sets are:
Carpentry: Jon began his employment demonstrating his skills by duplicating exact an entire turn of the century window frame as an entry-level task (as there were many renew, refresh and salvage tasks to be accomplished). Drawing upon Jon’s forte’ he constructed the front picture window encasements (both interior and exterior) when the existing windows were woefully constructed in a prior disjointed renovation. These windows had one plate glass pane shoved up into the abutting wall for what ever reason and the encasements didn’t match. Jon was able to recover the large plate glass picture window and built duplicate store front windows using available modern materials. He did all this while maintaining the integrity of the turn of the century look. Jon reattached the original bead board ceiling as needed. He demolished, repaired and reconstructed an interior office space which studs were so rotted it surprised me the wall stood. He replaced these studs and beefed up the wall minimizing sheet rock loss and expense. He repaired the floor and installed 2K sq ft of new pine flooring; leveling and strengthening as needed. He built air conditioning platforms and “pony” walls above and around the bathrooms and office. He skillfully removed the foot shy back windows and replaced them with the appropriate windows for the opening. He reattached the original crown moulding and removed and repurposed hidden moulding allowing crown mould sameness at the ceiling. He trussed and hung bead board ceiling and built a utility fur down. He hung 3 very large new double doors and finished them off with period trim attached by stick and mason keepers. Jon built awnings and also (using recovered turn of the century sliding door hardware) a sliding door from scratch, plus restored the large front awning at the front of the building. Finishing trim was tight and right. I observed a technique I had not seen before on a free standing wall and its crown molding when Jon wrapped the end upon itself as opposed to leaving a square butt cut.
Masonry: Repaired grout lines, repaired brick, edged old plaster with new mortar, sealed the brick with appropriate sealer, filled holes with new plaster, and supervised the floating of a 700 sq ft concrete floor with leveling compound.
Plumbing: When Jon was repairing a bathroom floor, he went the extra mile and checked the main drain line and found the 4 inch sewer line severed from the external main line (this had been caused by other workers whose actions would have caused major system failure requiring demolishing a new floor had the toilets been seated and operational). Jon also was able to plumb the bathroom sinks, toilets, a vintage corner hand washing station, a commercial gas on demand hot water heater, all at or better standards than the plumber initially contracted to do the job.
Drywall: Jon is very skilled in hanging sheetrock on interior walls and bathrooms. Jon is able to tape and float the wall without overdoing the use of joint compound, thus preventing excess dust, and time preparing a wall for paint. In 113 we did a smooth float and an orange peel. In 112 we did a stucco free style.
Paint: Jon skill in painting has the building shining like a new penny! He is skilled in prep, paint selection, spraying, and cut in; he is meticulous about a dust free environment in which to put product on surfaces to be finished. He and his helper prepped, swept and mopped all surfaces prior to applying product. He applied elastomeric to the masonry; both interior and exterior.
Jon is bright and personable, is highly self-motivated and well capable of achieving any goal he sets his mind to. Jon’s quick promotion to Project Supervisor is an example of that. His experience ensured the job was delivered at or below reasonable cost. His attention to detail starts with perfection and ends there as well. If there is a reasonable compromise to a situation Jon will give the options to the client clearly offering guidance. He ensured the job was orderly, teams met project deadlines and the site was kept clean. Other trade employees perceive Jon as a valuable resource and looked to him for innovative direction of this restoration.
Jon welcomes leadership opportunities and meets his deadlines on time.
America needs more employees like Jon. He is an asset to any individual or company that hires him.
If you would like additional information about Jon, you can telephone me at (830) 839-4332.
