"We called First Call Plumbing based on our first good experience with the provider.  I rated punctuality as B because the main office mismanaged my first appointment.  On the second appointment, I was given an estimate of $85/hour for 2 hours of work. On the day of the service, Todd arrived at 8am and started work at 8:10. Pace of work was moderate but he entertained at least one phone call during work and he arrived with only one hose for the two water heaters that needed to be drained. I provided another hose so draining could be done in parallel. Work was completed at 10:10. The bill was written for 2.5 hours of work + parts. I objected to the extra half hour charge. I was told that the additional ten minutes was rounded up to the next half hour. I pointed out that he started work at 8:10 and he took a phone call so he only worked for 2 hours. I was told "it is what it is". I said that I expected more from First Call, I was told "Do you know how difficult it is to run a business with workman's comp and travel expense? I would loose money if I charge you any less." I said I fully appreciate the tough competitive climate and that's why I wanted to support your business model and called you, but if you were going to lose money shouldn't you have reflect that in your bid and estimate? I was told that "Had I quoted you for $100/hour you would not have hired me". We will continue to consider First Call based on our excellent first experience with them, however, experiences such as the above does considerable damage to the environment of trust they work so hard to create - hence a B. <br />"

"Found Folkrod on Angieslist and gave them the opportunity to bid.  Their bid of $4,100 was competitive with others, but I selected them because of owner Tim's understanding of the job and his associated suggestions.  Once given the work, it was scheduled within a week and completed a week later.  The scope of work was increased slightly thus reflected in the increased final cost.  All work was done professionally and with the best of materials.  I was very satisfied with all aspects of my interaction with Folkrod Plumbing. <br />"

"The installation of our new ceiling lights was done efficiently and meticulously. They installed them on the weekend and were so thorough, we didn't even know they had been there, except our office is bright again! We will definitely hire them again for our future projects."

"My wife and I were in the process of replacing the kitchen faucet when we ran into an issue with one of the shutoff valves.  During the process of removing the faucet, a valve hose was cracked and needed to be replaced.  We decided that we would do the valve replacement ourselves but were unable to remove the old one.  Since we were already past the point of no return, we were unable to turn the water back on to the house and had to call a plumber. <br /> <br /> Chuck Woodard arrived promptly and went above and beyond to solve our issue.  Not only did he replace the valve in question, he went the extra mile to replace two additional valves underneath the sink.  He was very upfront with costs, had a pleasant disposition, and was informative along the way. <br /> <br /> We would absolutely recommend Zierman Plumbing, and already have plans to call them out for additional work.   <br /> <br />"

"Joey was referred to me by a friend when i was looking for someone to remodel our bathroom at our office. One of the things that impressed me the most was when he rolled out something to protect the carpet between the bathroom and the carpet so that he wouldn't mess up my carpet. I hadn't even thought of that. Unfortunately we weren't able to close while he did the work and he checked with us before making any noises. I guess what i'm saying is on top of the great work he did, I really appreciated that he seemed to care about more than just his job and was concerned with keeping us happy throughout the process. Would definitely recommend Joey for work at your house or business."

"On 4/28/2015, I wrote concerning a refurbished water treatment unit I purchased from Richard Foronjy. <br /> <br /> Soon after my review I received a call from Richard concerning my dissatisfaction with the refurbished unit I purchased for my mother.  I explained to Richard that the unit had been repaired a number of times and still was not working to my satisfaction. Richard listened to my concerns and frustration and then told me he wanted one more opportunity to repair the unit at no additional cost !!  I appreciated his willingness to repair the unit and a repair date was scheduled.  The repair technician was on time and upon inspection of the unit discovered a small crack in the top of the unit.  I technician explained to me that the crack was allowing air to enter the unit which caused the malfunction.  The unit was repaired and after a year I have had no further problems the unit. <br /> <br /> Thank you Richard for making good on your product !!  When it comes time to replace my unit I will again buy from Hague Quality Water."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in San-simeon, CA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
