"Sean made custom roll out shelving to install in my current cabinet and added supports to sure up the small cabinet pantry to ensure it would not separate, creating issues with new slide out wood shelving he made to fit my cabinet. It was exactly what I wanted, he designed and made it happen! 100 percent satisfied. I would definitely hire again for future projects."

"We are extremely pleased with our refaced and upgraded kitchen cabinets. Working with the Cabinet Cures team was a pleasure. We met with Jeff, the designer, and Andy, the owner, at the Raleigh showroom to choose the new wood, design, and finish. They guided our decisions with patience and no pressure. Jeff then came to our home and spent several hours helping us specify the details of the changes. We converted most all the lower cabinets to drawers and added a small pantry cabinet, keeping all the existing cabinet frames intact. Jeff then returned with Melvin, the job foreman, to take detailed measurements. Both gentlemen had good suggestions, attention to detail, and were able to accommodate our issues with sizes and spacing. Jeff was able to have custom moldings made for us since we didn’t care for any of the stock designs. Scheduling and duration of the job was precise and occurred as planned. The crew of 5 were prompt, courteous and seemed to really enjoy working together. We stayed involved the 7 days they worked to make any on the spot decisions which prevented any redos. They cleaned up at the end of each day and were able to isolate the kitchen from the rest of the house with plastic sheeting at our request, something they don’t normally do. The only improvements to the project we could suggest are the following: * Melvin knew all the details of the project, but on the two occasions he was not on site, things didn’t seem to go as smoothly. * My wife would have been less stressed if the project process had been explained in more detail so her expectations were more in line with what was going to be done each day. * We were led to believe we didn’t need to empty all cabinets, but our base cabinet modifications created enough sawdust to make cleanup more difficult. We wish we had emptied all of them."

"We had the new kitchen cabinets installed in January... a phenomenal company! We were going to paint the cabinets but decided to reface them. We got an estimate from another company for refacing (and minor cabinet modification) at about $11,000. We looked around and found Raleigh Premium Cabinets and had them come out. For $9,100, we got incredibly high quality cabinets with soft close drawers and doors and a new kitchen layout that works far better than the old! Both Ted (owner) and Dave (installer) were phenomenal in helping us design the layout and finishing the work. There was another great installer, but I can't remember his name. I had a minor issue a few days ago - Dave came out (one hour for him to get to my house!) and fixed the problem in a few minutes. Outstanding customer service!!!"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Sanford, NC

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
