"It was a pleasure working with the founder and owner Mr. Andy Stehr of STEHR CONCRETE. Before hiring any contractor, I highly recommend that you check the Contractors State License Board website (cslb.ca.gov) to make sure the contractor is Licensed, Bonded, and carries Workers Compensation Insurance. As a C-8 Concrete Contractor, STEHR CONCRETE checks all of these boxes. I selected 5 contractors from the CSLB to bid on my backyard new concrete patio project. 2 contractors never called me back. 1 The bid of the contractors was way out of line. STEHR Concrete and another bid of the contractors were almost identical. The difference, Andy Stehr spent more time with me explaining the complete process including how to color the new concrete. He made a color sample for me in my backyard. The color process is not like painting concrete. It takes a skilled concrete finisher, like Andy and his crew, to get the color right. In addition, the highly skilled framing of the new patio is very important to the final product. Here are the details of the project and photos posted: 1. Demolition and removal of the 1962 old concrete patio 2. Base rock, 3/8 inch rebar, and expert framing completed 3. 750 sq. ft of new concrete patio poured 4. 4-inch-thick concrete, 3000 psi (6-sack) mix. Quality material. I will be calling STEHR CONCRETE for all of my concrete projects in the future."

Customers say: Quick response

"Ike and his team did an outstanding job. We had concrete decking and mastic around our pool that was cracking and needed replacement. They were efficient and expeditious in the way they removed the old concrete, and they were able to lay new decking that was a perfect match with the adjacent concrete. Ike is energetic, attentive, and a joy to work with."

FAQs for concrete foundation installation projects in Santa Clara, CA

A concrete footer is a relatively shallow column of concrete that sits below your foundation walls. Footers spread wider than the foundation, so they can support a higher amount of weight in critical spots, such as below walls. The exact dimensions of footers depend on the home, so larger structures need a larger footing.

To calculate footing size, you need to know the minimum width and depth for houses in your region. Multiplying the width by the linear footprint of the structure will give you the size in linear feet.

To convert linear feet into square feet, you can divide the width by 12. For example, an 18-inch footer is 1.5 square feet per linear foot. Multiply this number by the total in linear feet to get the answer in square feet.

Installing a pier and beam foundation costs $5 per square foot, or $8,000 to $15,000. This style is standard in homes built before the 1960s or those in flood-prone areas.

Concrete weight support ranges from 1,500 to 6,500 pounds per square inch, and footings need at least 3,500 to 4,500 pounds per square inch. Remember that your soil type, climate, and materials used will significantly affect how much weight your footings can hold, especially in certain areas.

It costs between $1,600 and $3,200 to pour a 20-by-20-foot concrete slab. These estimates are based on an average cost to pour a concrete slab of $4 to $8 per square foot. Be sure to discuss the specifics with a pro—they’ll give you an estimate of how much you can expect.

The cost to raise a house is between $3,200 and $10,000. This range refers to a form of repair that involves lifting the entire house to potentially remove the old foundation and build a new one or add to an existing one.
