"The concrete was properly done as I requested. I ran into a problem I did not consider where the sidewalk met the driveway, but they solved this perfectly and without any extra cost. They also allowed for two pipes to be installed under the cement to give me ease of drainage and again without any extra cost."

"Everything went great, they did a super job with demo, & preparation . The curbside clean up was hampered by darkness so some slight concrete spillage was missed. However the driveway looks amazing ð"

"We had a very large driveway and patio that was incorrectly built from the original builder and was becoming a serious hazard due to the uneven surfaces and severe cracking of the concrete slabs. The Owner Lloyd and his wife came over to provide us a quote and suggest ways to achieve vision of what we wanted for the replacement of the concrete to last. We had a lot of great ideas, but Lloyd had to put all of them together, and educate us on what was the best way to accomplish our goals. He really knows how to do that too. We even did our home work to get a few quotes before, and L&L was by far the most professional and “realistic” of the other contractors. Their attention to details and honesty about some of the options that we though we wanted gave us an immediate comfort level with L&L since it was going to be a big and costly job. Lloyd has done this for many, many years and has the experience and the knowledge to do what a is right the first time. Thanks to Lloyd’s suggestions, know-how, we redesigned some things and it really made the finished product extremely functional and the design of it very good to look at too. L&L Concrete’s crew was also very skilled and worked like a well oiled machine. These guys are hard workers, polite, respectful and very clean regarding trash and other construction debris that can get out of hand quickly. Overall, I highly recommend L&L Concrete for any and all of your concrete needs. Their office manager Angel was a pleasure to deal with as well, and communicated with me daily to inform me of anything that needed my attention. From new construction to replacements, L&L Concrete is fantastic. Thank you Lloyd for a great job!"

"Work was completed as promised. I had thought I would be able to pay with a credit card but had to get cash during the job so that Andrew could pay the ready-mix driver when he delivered the concrete. The finished job looks good."

"A crack in our brick work led us to Abry Brothers Foundation Repair on a referral from the structural engineer. Very nice people to work with. We were provided with a brief explanation up front of the process and a link to a video to watch as well. We had contact information for all of our questions, and they were answered promptly. Very courteous team of hard working guys came out. They were patient and friendly, explained the process as they went through the steps, answered all our questions along the way. They got the job done in one day, cleaned up completely, left the site in good condition. Yes, we recommend Abry Brothers Foundation Repair. This was a good experience."

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Santa Fe, TX

Whether terrazzo is better than porcelain or ceramic tiles for a kitchen or bathroom floor depends on your design preference. Terrazzo can last a long time, but so can a properly installed ceramic tile floor. According to the National Association of Home Builders, the lifespan of a ceramic tile floor is 75 to 100 years, similar to terrazzo.

You should clean terrazzo floors like you would marble, even if there’s no marble in the aggregate. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the polished surface, and steer clear of acidic cleaners like vinegar, which can damage the surface. Instead, use plain water or a neutral cleaner to mop the floor. Then, use a wet vac or squeegee to remove the dirty water. Regular buffing with a soft cloth can help you maintain the shine.

Terrazzo is made by mixing an aggregate like glass or stone with a binder like cement or epoxy. The mix is made and poured into the prepared space you designate. Alternatively, you can purchase prefabricated terrazzo tiles, which consist of similar materials. They’re poured into a mold and cured before installation.

You can add radiant heating under a terrazzo floor, which is an excellent way to combat the naturally cold surface of terrazzo floors. Installing radiant heating costs $1,653 to $6,656. You'll want to install the heating elements under the thin-set epoxy because the layer is thin enough for the warmth to conduct through the floor.

Making your own terrazzo can be a tricky DIY project. The exact mix takes a blend of art and skill to create and requires the expertise of a terrazzo pro. The wrong blend could crack, peel, or break easily, requiring expensive repairs. Finishing and polishing the floor also requires previous experience to achieve a professional appearance. Expect to pay between $200 and $2,500 for the cost of restoring and polishing floors.

Terrazzo flooring is eco-friendly because it is crafted using recycled materials such as glass, marble, and polished metal, and its epoxy binder emits no VOCs once cured. This sustainable manufacturing approach minimizes waste and supports green building practices. Homeowners gain an attractive flooring option, contributing to healthier indoor air quality and environmental conservation.
