Anchor Iron is a third generation family business that was established in 1953. We manufacture and install all types of custom iron work from step and deck railings to storm doors and windowboxes. We offer no cost, no obligation estimates and year round installations.
"Anchor Iron railings were installed with excellent work, looking great! As a superior professional family business, we're impressed. Our purpose of being able to walk with improved balance, using a cane while holding each railing, was a helpful blessing!"

At Northland Fence, we believe a fence should enhance your property’s security and curb appeal—not become an expensive, high-maintenance regret. That’s why we offer top-tier ornamental steel, vinyl, and black chain link fencing designed to last for decades. Some companies still push warping, rotting wood fences or flimsy, dent-prone aluminum fencing, but we know better. Wood may start out looking great, but give it a few brutal Minnesota winters, and you’ll be dealing with splinters, sagging boards, and endless repairs. As for cheap aluminum? One storm, a stray baseball, or even a strong gust of wind can leave it bent and battered. We also retired galvanized chain link fencing years ago—just like many HOAs did. Let’s be honest: while it was once the standard, it’s now an eyesore. If you’re matching an existing galvanized fence, that’s understandable. But when the neighbors upgrade, do you really want to be the last house on the block with a dull, rusting relic? Instead, our sleek black chain link fences provide a modern, HOA-friendly alternative that blends seamlessly into any landscape. At Northland Fence, we stand by quality, durability, and craftsmanship. No subcontractors. No cheap materials. No gimmicks. Just expert fence installation backed by industry-leading warranties and financing options to fit any budget. When it’s time to invest in a fence, don’t settle for something that will become a neighborhood eyesore. Choose Northland Fence—where quality meets longevity, and style never takes a backseat to function.
"I will be recommending Northland Fence to everyone! From the first phone call I made with Josalyn, Rachel and Brittany to the building team Larissa, Michael, Cooper, Jaxson and Josh they were BEYOND professional, nice, prompt, respectful and hardworking. Our fence is perfect and everything we wanted. Whoever is in charge is VERY lucky to have people and a team like this. Outstanding! It’s hard to find good workers and people now a days and this team is special. Thank you Northland Fence team for really completing our forever home and just being all around great. 10/10 experience!"

In 2001, Danny Bowling moved to Minnesota and founded Crest Exteriors. Soon after, he brought on Mike McClain and Scott Hurm as managers. Through the years, Crest has grown to be a highly respected general contractor specializing in roofing, siding, windows, gutters, decks, interior remodeling, new construction and insurance claims. None of this would be possible without their exceptional team of staff members. Crest is proud to have office staff Katie Wutschke and Alicia Raway assisting in every detail of their projects to help them run smoothly. Bob George, Robby Hanson, and Matt Williams are their outstanding “outside guys,” which means they are the ones who make repairs and oversee projects with precision. It’s both the big and little things that bring a group together to work as one. Crest’s employees not only interact with each other as a team, but they also include their customers and vendors in their team approach as well. It is this deep sense of trust, skills, camaraderie, and everyone working toward a common goal that has created so many satisfied customers.
"Great ! timely, efficient ,nice job cleaning up"

We will make any project our best project.
"Horrible communication. Delayed work for months which cost us a lot of money. Brandon and Detailed by Design are not upfront about costs and their ability to complete projects on time. We met with the owner Brandon to address all the issues and finally agreed to a resolution which would have still been a loss to us however he reneged at the last minute and did not pay to replace the old furnace he tried to pass off as new. If you choose to use this business, check all receipts on "new" appliances they say they installed. We reported this business to the Department of Labor because of the shoddy work in installing the furnace and because the furnace was old when we paid for a new furnace. The dept of labor confirmed they were not licensed to install the furnace. We paid for a new furnace ourselves and a licensed contractor to install it. Overall a lot of issues and an absolute nightmare. We are still working on recouping some of our costs from this business."

we build decks and wood fences ,repairs, post replacement ,stair additions, railings,
"I called and asked a question about posts holding up my back deck, as to what needed to be done with them before they were covered up partly with dirt. Troy got back to me within minutes with a text explaining what was needed depending on what kind of posts they were. Then he informed me he was booked up for the rest of 2018. You can bet I'll contact him again if I need to do anything with the deck next year. I was impressed that he got right back to me even if it wasn't going to mean business for him."

We are a well rounded company with over 70yrs combined experience in the Construction and Handyman Industry. You name it we will and can do it!
"I requested a tree removal, the response was to provide a quote based on my unexperienced visual estimation. There was good communication up until the day they were supposed to show up. The day we agreed to do the work there was little to no communication (despite my messages) with no updates on what is going on. I asked the following day to see what the plan was (gave them the benefit of the doubt, things happen); the response was "I showed up yesterday and the tree was bigger then we expected, we want 3X the price we quoted". 1. If you are going to quote site unseen you should hold up to your commitment. I didn't force you to quote without coming out to look at the tree, I provided my best guess on size (its not a 90' or even a 40' tree). 2. If you show up to look at my property, come talk to me and discuss your concerns. 3. Expect a honest review of your (un)professionalism"

To determine how much fencing you need, start by measuring the perimeter of the area you want to enclose. Divide that number by the standard post spacing (usually six to eight feet) to calculate the number of posts you'll need. For precise measurements and to account for any irregularities, consider hiring a professional land surveyor.
Wood fences last 15 to 20 years when built with quality materials and installed properly. Pine fences last 10 to 15 years, while composite walls offer 20 to 30 years of durability. The fence’s lifespan is influenced by wood quality, weather exposure, and regular maintenance, which preserves its strength and appearance.
To prolong the life of your wood fence, you need to inspect it at least once each year and act immediately on any signs of loose nails, rusting hinges, or rotting boards. Annual cleaning, followed by a fresh coat of paint or stain every two to three years, secures the fence’s durability and preserves its appearance in all weather.
Fence posts are typically placed four to eight feet apart. Check with your local code requirements to ensure the correct spacing, depth, and setting. The placement of your fence posts depends on the fence height and material. Generally speaking, it's better for the fence if your posts are closer together.
To avoid upheavals or other issues, bury your fence post so the depth exceeds the frost line, or about one-third to one-half of the aboveground height of your post. Check with your local code requirements to determine the right depth for your home since it varies by location.
If a fence borders your neighbor’s property, you must inform your neighbor in advance about the installation. You share the responsibility for repair and maintenance in such cases, so both parties are held accountable by local regulations. It is essential to confirm your local code requirements and documented agreements to avoid future disputes and ensure clear responsibilities.
