Our front door was hand built by a craftsman from Canada. It is 40”x 84” and 2.25” thick. Originally it was in a 2 x6 wall. In this installation the walls are 2x 4. The door hardware made it necessary for me to pad out all the exterior casing and sill nosing to accommodate the storm door. Thompson Creek provided me with a qualified installer to work with and he confirmed that adding an additional 3/4” thickness to my casing would allow their door to fit.
