"Words cannot describe how well these guys did and everything they worked with us on. We had several small jobs and deck work. They painted our high vaulted walls and ceilings. They fixed our shower plumbing and added an acces panel for the shower. They installed a new ceiling fan. They re-faced our rotted deck and replaced several joists. Replaced both sets of stairs and set them in concrete. Amazing woodworking, professionalism, punctual, truly good people that you can actually trust. All work was done in a very timely fashion. We will definitely hire again for various projects around the house."

"Patrick and his crew were very professional, punctual and clean. When they said they were going to be there, they were there 10mins early. Also, Patrick gave me a detailed summary of the pricing and work that he would do and it never came to a penny more. I had him install in my living room a brick wall surrounding my fireplace and chair railing with shadow boxing in my entrance hallway and I can't tell you how it has transform my living room & entrance hallway. He is a meticulous contractor and would recommend Battlecat Brushworks highly. So highly, that I have hired him to paint my master bedroom and renovate my bathroom when the time comes. I have been through many renovations and have dealt with contractors that have overcharged and cheated me. They did inferior work and have left me high and dry...so Patrick and his men are a cut above the rest, a very rare breed when it comes to dealing with Contractors!"

"This was a major job (actually, four jobs), and Tony Martin and his staff accomplished it precisely as we had envisioned it and exactly according to our tastes.  We have an older home and are sticklers for preserving its character.  Tony Martin and his staff understood our needs and sensitivities on this issue--both in the design phase and during construction.  In particular, we were able to preserve existing cabinetry in our kitchen and integrate it with new construction in a relatively seamless way.  In obtaining new windows, we were able to match the existing window style in the rest of the house.  We were impressed with the skill and professionalism of the staff--from carpentry, to plumbing, to electrical work, to tiling and painting, to dry wall installation.  Everything was carried out diligently and according to specification, and every single staff member was polite and friendly.  The carpentry work was particularly skilled.  A number of problems required custom-made solutions, which were creatively and tastefully done.  There were unexpected problems that were discovered along the way (such as the old termite damage in our kitchen sub-floor, the hole in the roof above our bathroom, problems with the placement of bathroom lighting, etc.). Tony and staff dealt with all of these surprises transparently and promptly.  On several occasions small mistakes were made (placement of a cabinet, for instance); these were corrected without hesitation. The only negative I can think of was that there was some uncertainty about our start date, and communication early on could have been better.  But we are VERY pleased with our new kitchen, bathroom, closet, and storage area. In short, we would not hesitate to use Tony Martin again for any further remodeling needs and give him our highest possible recommendation.

"Joe was great. He showed up on time when promised. He cleaned up at the end of his day every day of a three day job. He installed a light fixture for us when it was not part of the original job ( for a very reasonable charge ). There were a couple of spots that could have been sanded better. But all in all he did a great job and would definitely hire him again."

"We contracted Gene and his team to completely renovate a powder room and bathroom from top to bottom in our recently purchased townhouse. We challenged them with unusual materials, own design ideas, and a number of special requests on a daily basis. The German in me demanded top quality work from Gene and Ryan. They did a great job and delivered a superb final product. Towards the end of our renovations we had an unfortunate event with our sewer pipe, which caused significant damage to our basement. Gene and Ryan to the rescue. Another great job accomplished in time and to our entire satisfaction. Give them a call when you need work done in your home. You will not regret it."

Our goal was to replace everything in the kitchen while relocating the pantry &,refrigerator. Carlos sat down with us & itemized a plan covering the different phases of work. Because it was a complete do over Carlos first had to demo the kitchen removing everything down to the bare walls. This involved removing the existing cabinets, countertop,& replacing & fixing sheetrock. Once that was done the tile floor was dug up & removed. Our floor contractor then installed a new tile floor. Once the cabinets were delivered Carlos immediately came over & opened & inspected every carton to insure we had everything as ordered. Carlos then installed the new cabinets. Once that was done, he installed two walls of new back splash which included separating the layers of tile to allow for a border. He then came back & grouted all the tile.

After owning two homes this was the first time we replaced a kitchen so we were very nervous. From the minute Carlos started we were at ease. He has an exceptional personality always laughing & assuring us everything would be all right. As the work progressed we could not wait for the next phase to begin. When the cabinets went up we were impressed with his craftsmanship & attention to detail. When he installed the backsplash we were in awe of our new kitchen. We then knew why he was so heavily recommended & well liked.

Carlos & his staff always showed up at the exact time they said they would. They were so meticulous during the demolition & installation that my wife couldn't believe contractors were working in our home. We bonded with them throughout even enjoying some Pizza & Chinese Food for lunch a couple of times. We are no longer nervous--we are delighted that we chose Carlos to do our kitchen & we would not hesitate to recommend him to do your kitchen.

FAQs for baseboard installation projects in Sayreville, NJ

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
