"I will call this “The Good, The Bad and the Ugly review” as I am breaking this review into the 3 teams that we had – 2 very good and done quickly and 1 inferior with the most time spent at our house – thus the overall 3 star grade. The Good • Roofing Team – Grade: A. Efficient, good job, found virtually no nails or roofing materials on the ground • Gutters – Grade: A. One man crew but he knew what he was doing and provided good suggestions for modifying our water flow. The Bad • Siding & Window Team – Grade: C to D. Not sure how they were trained but they didn’t seem to understand some common construction basics. A few of the many examples – o They nailed the siding on wrong and had to start over. o They almost ripped the 120V electrical outlet off the house without turning off the breaker but it was the weekend and we happened to be in the garden and saw them. o Installed the dryer vent wrong twice – once painting it shut and the next time putting on a vent with a label on it saying “not for use with clothes dryers” due to the pre-installed screen. The Ugly • Siding & Window Team – Used caulk as touch up paint on LP Smartside (or just used the siding to clean off their dirty fingers?) – leaving random “chicken pox marks” all over new siding. Garage, driveway and all 4 sides of our house were filled with equipment and garbage for the length of the project. Not the crew to have if you have children or pets – they left old saw blades and other sharp objects around the garage entrance and the house. I didn’t expect a spotless home every night but I didn’t expect to be living with this much disarray with minimal clean up each night, even after asking the supervisor to improve pickup of at least garbage and sharp objects in the garage and the common walking paths. Nor did we expect to be spending our fall cleaning caulk off the “maintenance free” siding and re-painting it and installing our outside boxes correctly. I will give the owner credit for realizing that his siding and window crew did inferior work and giving us a discount on our bill. None-the-less, I am rating the services provided based on the quality of the work done."

"The sales rep was very knowledgeable and helped me pick out what I needed and what was best for me. The installers were on time and very efficient. They cleaned up after themselves and were very polite. I was extremely happy with the work they did and the customer service.

"This is the second time we hired J & B Roofing to work on our house. We had 35 year old deteriorated Masonite lap siding. The old siding was removed, a layer of insulation was installed, along with Tyvek House Wrap under the new siding. J & B Roofing supplied many color samples for us to select from. Our house has brick on the lower 1/3 of the front. We had J & B Roofing install vinyl siding that has the appearance of hand split shakes above the bricks to the soffit. We installed vinyl dutch lap siding on the sides and back of the house. The gable ends of the house & garage had the dutch lap installed at the same angle as the roof line. Ever challenge we presented to J & B Roofing was met with the response, "WE CAN DO IT". When the job was completed, once again the entire area was cleaned up of all debris. Whenever we need any repairs, they will be our first call to see if what we need done, they are able to do. We are very satisfied with them and highly recommend their services."

"I'm impressed with Tom from CAPITAL CITY EXTERIORS. He was more knowledgeable than his competitors especially about gutters and he took the time to make sure he gave us a quote for what we needed. He listened to what I had to say but also gave his expertise in a professional manner. He came out within the week to look at the work and returned a quote in a timely manner. The price is in line with their competitors. We chose colors and CAPITAL CITY EXTERIORS will start doing the work next week."

"Roofing was fine, but when I called because of a leak 3 months after the warentee period, I was told the rate per roofer was $185 for the first hour and $98 per hour after that. No flexibility or willingness to work with me at all. The leak was not new just newly discovered. Does not matter. Legally they may be right but this attitude is not what customer service I want to have in my life. They will not get additional work from me."

"The process was super easy. Austad came out and looked at why needed to be done and gave me a quick estimate. I was able to schedule for them to come back within the week, the work was done quickly and mess free. I was very impressed with the contractors work and my roof has been great since!"

"I reached out to LionHeart to inspect my roof for damage after a recent hail storm. Andrew inspected my roof and determined that it had suffered significant damage to both the shingles and metal structures. Originally, my insurance company argued that they should only replace the damaged shingles, but Andrew put in a ton of work to convince the insurance company that any new shingles would look extremely out-of-place on my 15-year-old roof. The insurance company agreed and the entire roof was replaced. As for the work, Andrew and his team did an excellent job replacing the shingles and installing new maintenance-free gutters. He kept me informed about the entire process, which included some additional work that needed to be done to ensure the roof was up to code. Once again, Andrew was able to work with my insurance company to ensure that would not be an issue. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality of the work, the speed in which it was completed, and the thorough cleanup job once the project was finished."

"Currently, we are only in the planning stage, with actual work planned to begin once spring arrives. The bidding process went well, with all planning of all phases throughly covered in our negotiations. In all fairness to the other companies whom we approached, they all had solid reputations and vast experience in their field; but Bear Roofing was able to bid at a noticeably lower price. Bear’s lower price doesn’t reflect a use of cheaper materials or other cost cutting measures which should affect the quality of their work, but Bear Roofing had a lower apparent overhead and this was reflected in their bid to us. After the actual work has begun; and more importantly after the entire project has been completed, we will review how Bear Roofing followed through on their commitment to us, and how our faith in them played out."

"Had some hail damage to the roof and they drove out to check it out and give me an estimate, what I really liked was the gentleman (can’t remember his name) I talked with didn’t seem pushy or didn’t seem like he was trying to get me to spend more money than was was necessary and the whole process that seemed stressful at the beginning, wasn’t stressful at all and was very easy without having to talk on the phone with a whole bunch of different people. The work done was quality, as far as I can tell, and was done quickly and wasn’t a nuisance to my family and me during the process."
