"What started as a deck rebuild turned into a three season room addition. Matt and his crew were easy to work with, offered some great suggestions to us, and the finished room is more than we hoped for! We loved his suggestion of putting pine on the vaulted ceiling, and the finish work at the bottom on the outside looks great. Matt took care to match our 20 year old siding, and finish the windows and doors to exactly match the others on the house."

"We were very happy with Art?s work. Great job! He is reliable, professional, hard working, polite & easy to disscuss changes/problems with. He delivers high quality craftsmanship at a fair price. He finished our project very quickly and even worked on the weekend to finish the job. We would highly recommend."

"They did the ceiling and floor in our family room. We contracted with Home Finish Works to shiplap the ceiling and install LVP flooring. Matt and his team were professional, timely, and efficient. We absolutely recommend home finish work for anyone who needs home renovation work done. "

"We went through a months-long process sitting with different local contractors and trying to see if we could make our project happen within budget. When we met Allen of Your Remodel Pro, right out of the gate I just had a good feeling that he was the right fit. I always like being proven right. Professionalism every step of the way, our crew (Darien and Eric) was always on-time, trustworthy, accommodating and respectful of our family's space. They were a pleasure to have around. And the work speaks for itself. The attention to detail that they put in was spectacular and extended to every facet of the project. Allen was always available to discuss anything that came up and always happy to review our options thoroughly and advise us appropriately. Our kitchen is everything we wanted it to be and the meticulous work put in by Allen and crew just flashes from the minute you walk in. Again, just incredibly grateful that we were put in touch, and looking forward to booking our next project."

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Schenectady, NY

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
