Customers say: Quality work

"Marty and his team were awesome to work with and very professional. On time and the value they delivered was best in class! Neighbors and strangers that pass by have stopped and asked who did our driveway all the time which is a testimonial of their work quality in its self! The swirl design they put created makes our driveway stand out vs. the boring straight brush look you see from most contractors! I highly recommend Marty and Warrior Concrete!!!!!!!"

"Trevor and his crew had come and scoped the job giving us an estimate. After we agreed they were chosen to the work, we were given a starting date. The crew showed up on time and worked for two and a half days to prepare the area for the patio extension and build a beautiful retaining wall for the area that set back into the hill. The stairs to the front door were replaced with newly constructed rebar and structural elements that will last for many more years than the original stair that only lasted 24 years. The new stairs now match the full width of the front porch which now looks much more symmetrical. The pad leading up to the stairs was enlarged and lengthened. They came back on the third day and the concrete was poured and finished. When they finished the work they made sure they cleaned up the job site and left everything as it was before. Trevor and his crew did an excellent job and we are so happy with how the job turned out and we highly recommend them for any work you may need completed."

"Excellent service! Requested a patio with two large steps and two sitting walls. Greg did a fantastic job providing options for me and walking me through the steps of the job. In fact, they were very quick to reply and begin work (less than 1 week from first communication to first "shovel"). I am extremely happy with the results. My patio along with the 2 sitting walls looks phenomenal. I get complimented on it all the time and have loved using it for the past year and half. I would highly recommend their work quality and their work ethic and the final product shows their attention to detail! (see attached pictures)"

"Engineered Foundation Solutions was a pleasure to work with, from the owners Bob and Jeff who performed the inspection and planning, to Shannon who coordinated the project and kept in weekly contact, to Brian who oversaw the work, and his crew. They were professional, courteous, informative and hard workers. They completed the job on time despite a few surprises underground, rain, and a holiday weekend. The price they quoted was a little higher than the other two estimates we received, but the degree of expertise and professionalism was well worth that price, particularly for an expensive and long lasting investment in our home. I wish they did all things house related, I would hire them for everything."

"On each chimney, Lee ground out any deteriorated mortar joints, re-pointed them with new mortar, replaced any spalling bricks, coated the concrete tops of the chimney's with CrownSeal chimney coating, and sealed the chimneys above the roof line with waterproof sealant. Lee also installed a chimney cap and ensured that the flashing was properly sealed. The quality of Lee's work was simply outstanding, and I highly recommend him."

"Mike Isbir is great to deal with.  He listened to what I had in mind and made various suggestions to meet my needs. After the initial drawing, I wanted a few changes which he made with no problem. Since it was summertime, Mike admitted his schedule was pretty full, plus the fence had to be special ordered, so he was realistic about when the work could actually be done which I appreciated. Once the work was scheduled, Mike and his crew arrived timely and he introduced me to everyone. He then took the time to walk through the placement of everything with me and make markings that the crew could follow. Before he left the site, he ensured that I didn't have any further questions.  His crew completed the work as agreed and everything looked great. If I have any further landscaping needs, I will use Mike Isibr again. <br />"

"Rich did such a good job with my Landscaping needs that I hired him to replace my back yard patio. He demo'd the old crumbling cement pads, disposed of the old cement,  dug out the area to the specified depth and laid the red patio stone (I had the limestone for drainage delivered, as well as the red patio stone---This cut down on the cost and Rich was agreeable to this).  Everything was completed within 5 days.  Again Rich did a beautiful job.  He is by far the most reliable, honest and hard working contractor that I have ever hired. <br />"

"These guys are absolutely amazing. When John came to measure and write up the estimate, he informed me up front that the hideousness on my stairs was lead paint, so I knew exactly what I was getting into. We talked about making sure the cats were safe and contained during the time the work was being done since they would be in the basement and a catsitter would be visiting. <br /> The estimate John supplied me with included a number of options so I knew exactly what I was paying for and could make the decision that worked for my budget. I scheduled the work around some time that I would be out of town. The day the guys arrived, they moved a couple pieces of heavy furniture out onto the porch for me and got to ripping up the carpet. Before I was even ready to leave for my trip they had removed it all and I could already see the huge potential the floors held. When I came back three days later, I was absolutely amazed at the beauty of my unfinished floors. The stairs took an extra couple days simply because they were in such rough shape, not that you would know it by looking at the finished product. <br /> There were a couple unfortunate spots under the floor - an uneven spot, a few boards that someone had replaced on their own, and the aforementioned cat-related damage. The team evened out the spot as much as they could without damaging the integrity of the floor. The urine stains wouldn't come out of the boards, so we decided to replace them, at a totally reasonable cost. From the room it's impossible to tell which are the new boards. As an added bonus, the basement also smells much better without the stained boards! <br /> Several stains were placed on the floor for me to choose from - more than the two I'd originally chosen to see, which allowed me to get an idea of what different stains would look like. I'm totally thrilled with my choice and the way my house looks now that the work is done. Three days after the floors were done, the guys came back to move my furniture back in for me. I've got a couple more rooms to work on and I will definitely call Nova again when I'm ready to have those floors taken care of!"

"I had a few concrete steps that I wanted to have repaired before an upcoming home appraisal. (Also, I was growing increasingly worried that I or my mail carrier were going to twist an ankle.) Because the job was a repair, I had a difficult time finding a company willing to come and give me an estimate. After many calls and either outright rejections or no callbacks, Ken from RJL called me and said he could come out the next day to give me an estimate. He was prompt and his estimate was fair, so I told him to go ahead and put the job on his schedule. He asked me when my appraisal was and worked to finish the repair job before that date. The work was only completed today, but it looks great (way better than the patches the previous homeowner used) and he paid great attention to detail in his work. He was efficient, respectful of my time, and genuinely concerned about the quality of the work he was doing. <br /> <br /> I've already recommended this company to a friend, and received some casual estimates from Ken on other concrete projects I need to complete around the outside of my house. They'll be the first ones I call when I have the money for them :) "

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Scottdale, PA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
