"Jose and his crew installed a~360 sq. ft. patio using Nicolock pavers and contrasting charcoal border pavers in 2.5 days. Outstanding job. When I asked them about using edging to prevent the pavers from shifting, I was told that he does not use edging. Instead the perimeter is first installed as retaining wall blocks set in mortar! After the perimeter is set, the site is then excavated, compacted, covered with weed suppressing fabric. The fabric is then covered with crushed stone layer, compacted and sand is then laid on top, compacted and leveled and properly graded. I chose the herringbone design shown in their logo and very happy with the choice. The border pavers are laid on top of the retaining wall blocks and are "glued" to them using mortar/liquid cement. After the border pavers had set, the crew applied polymer sand to fill in the gaps between pavers. This "grouting" was done twice. The final product is solid as a rock and not going anywhere! VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK. Jose Espinal's company is insured and bonded, so hire them for your project and be worry free."

"Existing plants (azaleas and iris) were moved and replaced without a problem. Carefully worked around old wisteria vine without issues. Wall was installed exactly as expected. Encountered unexpected problems with plugged existing drainage pipes which needed to be replaced. This was done at a minimum of extra cost and the replaced drainage system was better than the one originally in place. This understandably delayed completion of project by about a week which was otherwise on time and within budget. Staff was pleasant, knowledgeable and accessible. I definitely would use them again."

"Years ago, when our patio was installed, the contractor did not completely tie in one of the pavers. The Ballard team came in and assessed the situation, repaired not only that paver, but tightened up all of the pavers along the perimeter of our patio. That thing isn't going anywhere any time soon! The team arrived when expected, did a good job of cleaning up after themselves, and left me very pleased with the end results."

"Wonderful experience!! This is the second time we have used Maryland Decking and Kyle Funk as our salesperson; they came in on budget for our project and in the time frame that we needed. Kyle is great, but we had a couple questions regarding the placement during installation, so he showed up day of installation with shovel in hand. "Mr. Lemus has an excellent crew that gets right to work. We had 10 yards of mulch and three yards of Leafgrow delivered that morning and by the end of the day our flower beds were all edged and mulched, the lawn was aerated and has a top "dressing" of three yards of Leafgrow and the place looks fantastic. This was a long day for these guys -- finished up at about 6PM but wow I was super impressed. Mr. Lemus is friendly and very accommodating. "We were looking into redoing our old deck and got a quote which we thought was reasonable for our large deck. Then for another estimate, we called 7th State Builders. They explained that for the same cost, we could get a paver stone patio (which in the long run is far less maintenance). The owner worked with our budget and the gentlemen who laid our pavers were extremely professional and worked within our wishes. They removed the deck and finished the patio in about a week. Awesome job! After a week or so, it had rain for a period of time and we noticed that a small dip in the patio was collecting a puddle. After a call, they came out and fixed the problem.
