"We are SO happy with our built-in. We had a space where the builder had intended a rear-projection big screen to be. Obviously, we don't use those and needed to install a matched cabinet to look exactly like the built in on the other side. Scott matched it perfectly. The install went smoothly and we are very happy. When we redo our kitchen and bathrooms, we'll be using Scott for custom cabinets!"

"Scott is a pleasure to work with. He does what he says he is going to do. We had an issue with a tile being knocked loose during installation of the cabinets and he came out that same afternoon and reset it. I've used him to paint the kitchen ceiling and it came out great too."

"The main reason we decided to go with all surface was the warranty applied to their work. Horacio was on time and professional. He looked at our tub and assessed that the original refinish had been installed incorrectly. He then proceeded to strip the finish off to apply the new work. However when he finished stripping the old finish off, he asked us to look at the tub and recommended that we didn’t even need the new finish because the tub was in great shape. The tub indeed looked perfect with the original porcelain and he ended up saving us over $200. We have some other work to be done on other properties and will definitely be contacting these guys again."

"He turned a useless corner into something fabulous. The cabinet is absolutely gorgeous - it looks like it was always there! - and is so huge I can never fill it (but I am trying). Craftsmanship is perfect; he was able to match it to the other cabinets in my kitchen. He was on schedule and the install was professional - very happy with it."

"Everything was wonderful. The crew (Bill & Clay) were so professional and precise in their work. They were very meticulous and careful - and cleaned up after each day of work. They came on time and worked very **** ** this difficult job. Our roof and gables are very high. I have also previously had inside painting done by Lewiston & Sons which was excellent. I would recommend Lewiston to anybody needing work done. They are terrific!!"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Sherman, TX

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
