"After getting 3 bids, I decided to hire Coatney Fence for my fence project. Dennis Coatney was wonderful to work with. He is knowledgeable, showed up promptly and consistently responded with answers to my many questions. I had approximately 200 feet of 6 foot cedar fence replaced including a 10 foot double gate and a walk gate. Dennis and his crew took down the old fence and set new posts on day 1 and then returned on day 4 (allowing 2 days for the concrete to set) to complete construction of the new fence and gates. He and his crew were a delight to work with--polite and left the job site in better shape than they found it in. I am exceptionally pleased with the quality of the work and materials used for my project. I highly recommend Coatney fence."

"Went great. One of the reasons we hired Method Finish Carpentry was the amount of time giving advice Jared gave us before we even hired hiim. While having a new floor installed, we discovered some water damage to the subfloor in the entry way. We looked for contractors on Angie's List and saw Method Finish Carpentry got good marks. I called, left a message, and then shortly thereafter got a call back from Jared. He explained what we he thought was going on and what we needed to do even though he was too busy to help us right away. We delayed finishing the floor so we could get the problem fixed. Ultimately we decided to have a new door installed. We chose Jared because he seemed to approach the leaking water problem holistically as opposed to someone like Washington Energy Services who were just going to do a cookie cutter installation. We had to wait a bit for Jared to get us on his calendar but once we were he was prompt and reliable. Once the door was installed he followed up after two big storms and tweaked it a bit to make sure it was not leaking. Jared is an interesting person, very easygoing, committed to making sure were satisfied, and just a pleasure to work with. We were very happy with the project and will gladly hire Method Finish Carpentry for future work around the house. <br />"

"We installed a new chimney-style vent hood in our kitchen but needed a professional to help us finish the job by properly venting the hood through the attic and finally the roof. We also needed a pro to seal a roof vent that was leaking. <br /> We received a written estimate via email -- $150 to $300 for labor and $150 for materials. The estimate explained that these costs would be adjusted if less than estimated, and that labor costs would not exceed the stated price unless we authorized it. <br /> Robert showed up promptly and confirmed the scope of the work with us. He sealed the plumbing vent, cut a hole in the roof and installed a new exhaust vent. He went into the attic and installed ductwork (provided by us) to connect the roof vent with the duct coming through the ceiling. We tested the hood and all was working. <br /> When the job was completed, the cost was adjusted significantly downward to $175, to account for less time needed to complete the work and fewer materials needed. We felt the cost was worth it to avoid having to get on the roof ourselves and hook up the ductwork in tight quarters in the attic. <br /> All seemed fine. However, today (more than four months later), we went into the attic and discovered that the ductwork had become disconnected from the roof vent and the duct had fallen onto the insulation below. As best we can tell, the adhesive from the tape that was used to secure the duct to the roof vent failed in the heat of the attic. We have been venting cooking steam into our attic for some unknown period of time! <br /> Instead of contacting the company about this discovery, we decided to just take care of it ourselves today so it would be quickly resolved. We reconnected the duct to the roof vent with foil tape, which is one of the recommended tapes for sealing ducts. We also installed a plastic pipe hanger strap to support the duct in place, in case the new tape were to fail. <br /> So, the roof vents have not leaked to date, which is an "A" rating. But failing to secure the duct properly isn't acceptable -- especially in an area where it could have gone undetected for years -- which is why we rate the company with a "C." If the tape hadn't failed, we would have rated the price an "A." <br /> We do appreciate the company's responsiveness when we sought an estimate and wanted to schedule the job, and the courtesy Robert showed while at our house. We realize everyone has an off day. <br />"
