"Our house was built in 1941. We not only felt we needed to do waterproofing but needed a radon extracting system, sump pump, dehumidifier, wall paneling and new windows with window wells. The project worked like clock work with members of the American Waterworks team. Only have 3 windows and small section of paneling to finish. Paneling can't be finished until new water line is installed. All will be completed when windows arrive. In 1 yr. American Waterworks will come back to check all is working well. Extensive project that wasn't cheap. We felt we got our money's worth!"

"Called Neighbors around 8:15 AM and they said they could have someone out between 9 and 11 AM that day. I was at work so they asked for my phone number in case the technician needed to contact me. Got a phone call shortly after 11 AM saying it was finished, told me what part was replaced, the cost and it was working and everything else looked good so was happy to know I would be coming home to a warm house. Very prompt and professional."

"WE GOT THREE BIDS FOR THIS PROJECT AND DIVERSIFIED WAS THE LEAST EXPENSIVE FOR THE MOST WORK. THE CREW WAS PUNCTUAL, PLEASANT, AND UNBELIEVABLY TIDY GIVEN THE MESS THIS WORK IS. THE FINISHED PRODUCT IS EXCELLENT. WE'VE HAD A FEW STORMS SINCE, WHICH IN THE PAST MEANT DAYS OF THE WET-DRY VAC, BUT NOW, NOT A DROP OF WATER. THE PUMP IS VERY QUIET. JUST A QUALITY JOB FROM BEGINNING TO END--AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. JACK, THE OWNER, WAS ALWAYS ACCESSIBLE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS."

"The guy that they sent off to do the work was not very knowledgeable. I had the work done before so I knew what was supposed to be done. I actually told him how to do the baseline. It ended up coming out alright. I have another company do it a little cheaper but they don't do our area anymore. They're on time in everything. I would probably not use them in the future."

"Our sewer had backed up into our basement and we called to have it fixed. They did show up when promised and got the drain to work and gave us a bill for $95. A couple of days later the basement was full of sewage again. They came out again but also charged me for that trip as well, even though they hadn't done the job correctly the first time. So, I paid for the service twice when I should have not been charged the second time. The second time they did finally do the job correctly though."

"The construction workers tore up old concrete at the end of my driveway and replaced it with new concrete at a different lower angle so my car wouldn't drag on it.  They replaced 3 sheets of sidewalk and the curb.  These workers have done other jobs at my house under the owner's supervision.  I have always found everyone to be courteous.  Concrete work is weather dependent. The previous owner refused to overbook and have too many projects going at once.  His crew completed the jobs though sometimes end dates were extended.  I consider it professional when a company like Behncke Construction refuses to rush a job and thus lower the quality. <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Sioux City, IA

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
