"Ryan did an excellent job trimming my shrubs, discarding some trees, uprooting a magnolia tree that was threatening the foundation of my home and making my landscape look so much better! He also went above and beyond, showing professionalism, being very helpful and kind. I highly recommend him!"

"I have to give a huge shout out to Jeff Thoma and Prestige Paving. What an exceptional experience! I had multiple local contractors come out to give me bids on my driveway, removing old sinking and cracked concrete and replacing with new asphalt. Jeff came out to see me, told me exactly what they had to do to replace my driveway and the amount of work needed to do the job right. The other contractors wanted to pave over the sinking cracked driveway! They arrived like an army on Monday morning as scheduled, one of the guys on the crew even stood with my blind neighbor and waited for his Access van because the trucks were blocking his normal waiting spot. The team of 8-9 guys worked in perfect harmony, through torrential rain; if something dropped on the ground, someone else was scooping it up. They were very friendly and funny, considerate of our neighborhood and so efficient! The job was completed this morning and we couldn't be happier. So thankful that we chose Prestige Paving. When you want the job done right, call the professionals. Thanks Jeff, Heather, John and your team."

"I recommend Palat Landscaping for installation of retaining walls. Jason has a very strong reliable team of workers that aggressively replaced my retaining wall, well ahead of the timing in which competitors could have done so. He removed the old wall surrounding my driveway and installed the new wall in less than 2 weeks. The quality of the work was high and was performed in accordance of the Versa-Lok recommended method. The team was professional and maintained the area clean at the end of the day and the end of the job. Jason was very cooperative during the process and worked hard to meet our needs. I recommend Palat Landscaping for retaining wall installation."

"The basement windows went well and look really good. I had one done last year and it looked so good I decided to have the other two in my basement replaced along with a bathroom window. When they first came out to measure they advised there would be no problem replacing the bathroom window. The cost was twice as much as a basement window but, they explained it was a little more complicated to do a bathroom window. I asked and was assured the block window would fit and I would not have to have any additional repair work done after the window was installed. When I read the contract it indicated Pgh Glass was not responsible for any repair work such as plastering, wood trim, and finishes other than mortar. I noted on the contract that I was told there would be no need for plastering etc. because the window would fit so my expectation was there should be no need for that type of additional work. I got a call about my note on the contract and again explained I did not want the window if I was going to have to have another workman come in to plaster or repair anything because the new window did not fit the space. I was told Pgh glass would send out the men who were actually installing the window to measure it again to be sure. They came out and measured again and expressed no concerns. However, once the window was actually installed I found that it sat back about 4 inches further than my old window did leaving old tile that is a different color than the tile on half of my windowsill and walls surrounding the new window. Now it's going to cost over $400.00 to paint the newly exposed tile and, the company who originally did the tile no long has the color I need. Also, there is mortar used to secure the window along the edge of most of the new glass blocks which needs to be scraped off. Lastly the mortar used between the blocks is grey which I was not expecting for a bathroom window, The basements windows do not have grey mortar between each block.
When I called about the window not fitting into the space as far in as the old one did leaving the old tile exposed I was told bathroom windows are tricky, you never can tell what will be found, and that the women I talked to about my concerns at the time I signed the contract had tried to warn me not to replace the bathroom window. I was also told to buy a paint scraper to scrape of the excess mortar on the new window myself. This is exactly why I asked when I signed the contract if they would confirm the window would fit in a manner I would not have to have further work done. I was assured after the second measurement that would be the case.
Not sure why Pittsburgh Glass block would advertise they do bathroom windows and then explain that they are often tricky to put in and further repairs might be needed after it's installed. Also why the color between each block is grey which does not look great in a bathroom. Lastly, why I would be tasked with buying a paint scraper to scrape off excess mortar. Pittsburgh Glass block did not offer to do anything to correct any of these issues."

"Very well. Josh responded immediately. The price was very good for 113' drive, 9 feet wide with parking pad. The old driveway had to be removed and disposed of. The work was delayed significantly by the weather. Also, a coordinated effort was needed with my landscape person. Large trees had been removed and some of the roots had to be taken out. When the team got into gear they were able to complete the work in two days. Of course rain slowed the second day for five days."

"This company was a real pleasure to work with from the estimate, to scheduling, to correcting my errors in the contract review process, to installation, and minor repair to the installation. Amanda met with us to get the estimate and listened carefully to our wishlist. The estimate came in under the competitive bid we received and it arrive 5 days earlier. Due to personal circumstances we wanted the job done as soon as possible. Initially that seemed like a request beyond their ability to deliver. But then a miracle happened and some how our job was started sooner than initially expected. The crew arrived at the set time everyday. They worked diligently all day everyday they said they would be there. They had their music and their equipment, but the noise level was never intrusive to us or the neighbors. They left the job site clean and organized and safe for our family each night. The crew was kind and let me observe and comment. When I discovered one option that I thought I had asked for did not make into the official contract - Amanda and the crew worked with me to get a new estimate for the change request and even ended up readjusting the patio design to accommodate the request without buying a new pallet of pavers. The didn't have to do that. They could have said - we don't have enough material and just let it go. I am so happy and impressed that they did a little extra moving things around to meet our revised request. Fitting the pavers into the beautiful design makes me feel like I have a piece of art in my back yard. I love it. We had a slight slump in two or three bricks a few days after the job was complete. They repaired that in a day and then helped me figure out how to prevent it from happening again (it was my gutter overflow issue that caused the problem) the final product was better than I could have hoped for. We enjoyed our patio every night that there was no rain this summer. The pups love it too. I have recommended this company several times and will continue to do so! they also leveled a part of the yard -- installed some decorative lumber to replace our decaying railroad tie edging and ensured that the gutters drained into piping that was routed under the patio so that water flow was appropriately managed."

"They installed steel beams on a wall that bowed inward in our basement garage after carbon fiber straps we had another company install several years ago failed. We are VERY pleased with the work performed - the workmen were professional and the work was completed in one day as they said. We have a lot of clay in our soil and with all of the rain this year, it placed too much pressure on our wall. Our wall was examined by their engineer prior to install and he explained that the purpose was to stop further movement."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Smithton, PA

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
