"Karen and John were a joy to work with. They refaced our existing kitchen cabinets and installed new doors and drawers. They added crown molding to the top of the wall cabinets and added decorative molding to the bottom of those cabinets. They raised the countertop height so the size and depth of the drawers could be enlarged. Their design and attention to detail were outstanding. They thought of many items of which we were unaware of and had a sharp eye for color and design. Karen was always available for questions and advice and kept in constant contact from the very first time that we met them, got an estimate from them, and refined our design. We cannot say enough good things about them. John is a hell of a carpenter and Karen has a real eye for color and design. We give them 8 out of 5 stars!"

"
After reading the reviews here we decided to go with Mr. Early to build us a new kitchen. I believe we met with him at his showroom three times and he came to our house twice during the decision process. He was very thorough in his evaluation of what we wanted and extremely patient with all the questions we asked during the design phase. After we settled on the design and materials, we received and approved the estimate and settled on a schedule. His crew of subcontractors always arrived on schedule, were very courteous and entertaining, and always left the work area clean at the end of the day. In the end we had a new kitchen with solid wood cabinets, quartz countertops, glass mosaic backsplash, and new vinyl floor, all new plumbing fixtures and electrical outlets with LED under cabinet lighting. We are extremely pleased. The work is top notch and our new kitchen revels anything you see on TV. Due the materials we choose it was a bit pricy but we now have a kitchen with more storage space and a much more efficient layout. Would recommend HOSCO Kitchen and Bath? Absolutely!

"

"I am very pleased with Taylor's Cabinets and Interiors. We recently bought a new house and wanted to upgrade our laminate counter tops to granite. We have quite a lot of counter space in the kitchen as well as a seperate bar area and built-in cabinets on each side of our fireplace that we wanted to change. I got a couple estimates and they were the best but I was also happy with the experience I had dealing with the family/company. I called with a scheduling challenge and what I thought was an unrealistic request for someone to come give me an estimate the next morning, when I had access to the house that was still in contract. I spoke with Mr. Taylor himself and although he was already scheduled, he sent his son Thomas out to do the estimate. Thomas was right on time and took measurements as well as made sure I was aware of anything that could be additional costs. I met him at the shop later that day to look at my options and get the estimate. Thomas was a big help, taking time to answer all of my questions and make suggestions, allowing me to feel confident with my decisions. He also helped arrange for me to go to the granite warehouse in Raliegh so that I could see and pick the actual lot of granite. Thank goodness I did that because the granite I originally selected was coming in much more mustard rather than oatmeal colored. The staff at the Granite company were great, Amanda searched till she found an alternative granite she thought I would like and we left excited with our final decision. They were very clear with expectations and timing but when they arrived to tear out our counter-tops, I was SO pleasantly surprised and my expectations were exceeded! They knew I was working with a tight timeline and since I had picked everything out early, they were able to meet my timeline with a couple days to spare. I also had been handling most of the house buying and moving, while my husband was away and I have 2 children under 3 years of age. I was so excited that my new counters were going to be in earlier than expected and they left me some counters to work on till the granite got there and re-plumbed the kitchen sink for me, that I actually did a little dance of joy! Mr. Taylor or Thomas was there every step of the way and made sure everything was done to expectations. I was very happy with them and actually got a couple additional estimates for some smaller things we might do to our kitchen in the near future. I would and already have recommended them to friends and neighbors.
"

"The first problem I had after signing the contract is you are required to pay $1,000.00 that day. IF you don't sign/pay & you decide later to have the service done ... you will be charged a fee for someone else to come out & re measure. Another guy did come out the next day (to re measure), but he really came to collect an additional 7k, The first day the installers arrive on site they request another 8k. At this point I've paid 16K & have nothing to show for it ... the work has not even begun. Evidently they use your money to order the necessary supplies or insure they have your money so you will not change your mind. All of this was spelled out in the contract ...which I should have read & more carefully. I did try to cancel the contract but it was after the 3 day window & I was told if I cancelled I would have to pay 10 - 50 percent of the job (for nothing)! Bryton's claims they can "do it all", but they are not licensed to or don't have in their employ someone to handle all of your needs (ex. electricians, painters, etc.). They will however contract the work out on your behalf (for an additional fee that is above & beyond the price the contractor charges them). I also did not like the fact that the contract was not itemized as to what each thing was costing me. Just a lump sum total. I was disappointed at the quality of the items I received. For the amount I paid I should have received top of the line products. Had to settle for vinyl instead of porcelain tile, chrome fixtures instead of brushed nickel, "hard service" aka plastic vanity top instead of quartz or granite, the faucets are so short you can't even get your hands under them for washing, the sinks are small (looks like they belong in a play house. My cabinets they hauled out of here were a better grade than my new "upgraded cabinets"! The cabinets & drawers did not even come with handles, I had to buy them & they were kind enough to put them on (which splintered the doors when they drilled the holes. I had to hire someone to put in my lighting, exhaust fan/light, the glass for the shower & for painting. Bryton's finished up today, but I'm on week 3 & still can't use the bathroom because I'm waiting on the glass for the shower & still trying to locate a painter. My intent was to have a shower stall w/o a door which the Bryton Rep told me would work. Well it seems 2 weeks into the project .. the glass guy says that will not work & you will have splash out. Now I've got to add the extra expense of a shower door. I had no way of knowing what this project was going to cost up front because of having to contract out (which Bryton's made seem it was so easy ... just go to Lowes or Home Depot, buy your items & they will install for you ... it was not that easy & very time consuming). Needless to say I would not use Bryton's again nor would I recommend them to a friend. They have too many layers of people they are paying. I spoke to 9 different people during my project, seems everyone has a separate duty. Also they asked if I wanted a permit for inspection, originally I said no that I didn't think it was necessary .. but the more I dealt with them "I didn't have a warm fuzzy" so I told them I did want the plumbing inspector to come out, to me that really shouldn't have even been asked, that should be part of their process & a requirement. I guess it's another way for them to save money.
"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Sneads Ferry, NC

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
