"Rome & his crew were great to work with from the get go. Rome is super responsive to phone/text and after a review over phone and texts provided me with estimates, colors and options. The team worked hard, were quick and did a great job and cleaned up post work. Rome walked me thru options on redoing my steps. To the patio and guided me on options. I am very happy and satisfied with their work and would hire Rome on future projects, if a need arose."

"I needed to have my crawlspace entrance widened to accommodate a new furnace. For starters, the wood frame around the entrance, nailed to the concrete foundation, would have to be removed. Additionally, a few inches of the concrete wall would have to be removed to make the opening even wider. The work was complicated by the fact that the entrance was surrounded by a small aluminum enclosure, which made things pretty cramped. <br /> The two NCC employees (Garret and another) arrived on time. They removed the frame with a large pry bar. They also made a clean 20" vertical cut through the 8" concrete wall. When they were done they made sure I thought the opening was large enough for the furnace. In the end, we concluded that the aluminum enclosure would also need to be removed. They were willing to do that too, but they didn't have a reciprocating saw with them. They did advise me on how they thought it could be done. <br /> <br />"

"Island Concrete LLC installed a concrete driveway for me quickly (one day) and at an affordable price. The owner, Island, was present from start to finish to supervise and take part in the job. This was very reassuring."

"We hired Pioneer about a year ago to remove an old driveway and concrete patio. The team worked quickly removed the old broken concrete and created all new outdoor hardscapes adding an new expanded patio, new walkways, and a new RV/boat parking area. The price was very reasonable for the work they did and it was all done on schedule. The workmanship is great and everything still looks nice even a year later."

"They were very quick to respond to me. They were on time to do the patio and did more then what we contracted to do. I would absolutely hire them again if I had more concrete work to do. They cleaned up after they were done. I highly recommend them."

"Our project was a complete removal and re-pour of our concrete slab, garage floor, driveway & front porch. There were complications along the way and they were amazing and very upfront with everything! This was a big expense dirty job and we were grateful to find this company to do the job quickly and for a fair price. Nick & his team are amazing. Thank you!"

"Mac and Sons were great. All the way from estimate to prep to pouring of the concrete. Great communication about the project and how and when it would be done. I am telling everyone I know how great they were and the cost was the best I found also. "

"Fernando and his team removed existing 54 year old concrete stairs and walkway leading up from driveway to front door. They framed in for new steps and walkway including rebar and gravel filler for base. New concrete was poured using concrete pumpline. The stairs turned out phenomenal! We are so happy! Fernando and his crew were outstanding, extremely efficient, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Communication and response time including phone calls and scheduling were top notch. They completed our project in two days. We will definitely hire them again for other projects. We highly recommend their services. You wonâ t be disappointed!"

"I highly recommend Highland for your concrete needs. I contacted them for a driveway repair and was contacted very promptly. I received a complementary inspection and bid for several options of completing my project. I was on a tight deadline which the company was able to accommodate. The work was completed beautifully with excellent communication all along the way. One rarely gets such outstanding customer service these days, but this company was fantastic."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Snohomish, WA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
